Hello,
I just tested with my company test unit laptop and it has Nvidia GT750M graphic card. What I realized was, if I run the game alone and in character select page, open options tab and it shows FPS ranging around 29fps to 35fps, usually stable at 32fps.
Jump back to Desktop and open Google Chrome, may leave it in Google website or so, go back to the game and the game FPS immediately jump to 55fps to 60fps, and stable down at 60fps.
Do anyone have any idea, or any clarification on this kind of "magic boost"? I remember 7-8 years back I played Taiwan MMORPG game, also got the same scenario where I launch IE and Firefox in background, the game become smoother.
Thank you.

Optimus being stupid as f*** again. Go to settings and force the GPU to run when GW2 is on.

GW2 is a CPU-bound game, meaning much of the workload are on the CPU, less on the GPU, perhaps Chrome take much of the CPU resources on your lappy...

Doesn't explain why his FPS goes up when Chrome is on which implies that his PC is making use of the integrated card over the dedicated one. I had the same problems when I played on my laptop. Then again, optimization for this game is a piece of shit. On my 4770k and GTX770 I'm getting 50FPS in town on max. Quite unreasonable to be sitting at 50 considering its town idle. Not even going to get into how my PC sounds like a hurricane when I play. QUOTE(Y.K. @ Feb 14 2014, 03:54 PM) great info, may i know how to do this? thanks. Nvidia settings in control panel. Rest you can fiddle around to figure out. Its just a drop down menu really. This post has been edited by ZeratoS: Feb 14 2014, 04:18 PM
