Is it for real that the tablet and everything else that is included in the package all in for that pricey? Would I be tied down to a Telco data plan program?

Not only is the deal real, here are some tips and guides.

1) You can choose to subscribe to the newspaper and get the tablet for your own use.

2) You can also subscribe to the package and gift it to friends or family - both the paper and tablet.

3) You could also keep the tablet (for your own use) and send the paper to your parents, friends or family.

4) You could also subscribe to the paper and gift the tablet to your friends or family.

At RM288 or even RM538, wouldn't it be a perfect gift?!

That's the reason why we call it the #malaymailgr8deals offer!

Dear themalaymail,

You should watch you words. Only Huawei tablet have GSM/3G capability.

Samsung Tab 3 SM-T210 as linked to Samsung's page is Wifi only version. Samsung Tab 3 with GSM/3G is SM-T211 and SM-T215,

http://gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_tab_3_7_0-5422.php

However, the SM-T210 should be able to.connect to 3G with dogle, but 2G GSM aren't possible.

Please take note.

I suspect either your link to Samsung's page is the wrong product or there are misunderstanding between The Malay Mail and Samsung.

Thank you.

Issues & Problems trying to Pre-register

We have received some complaints on inability and/or incomplete registration process on our pre-registration site; www.themalaymailonline.com/gr8/.

1) The current site supports CSS, XHTML & HTML 4.0> and supports the latest browsers. Ensure you have the latest browsers to limit errors or discrepancies on the user interface. We are currently reviewing the option of having a non-CSS, HTML 2.0 option which will support IE 6.0. (Will keep you all posted should we have this up and running on time before Friday.)

2) Confirmation Email - we understand that you have not received a confirmation email when you register. This will be resolved by end today (18 Feb).

3) Please reply to this thread on your issues and we will try to investigate and resolve the issues.

4) Our Contact Centre No. +603 2023 1888 will only be operational from Friday, 21st Feb.

We understand your eagerness to get your hands on our #malaymailgr8deals subscription & tablet offer, we're also equally excited to begin rolling out our Order & Purchase program this Friday, 21st Feb - we thank you for your patience and support.

Hi,
Newspaper delivery charges is dependent on your neighbourhood paper vendor.

1) Their charges may vary based on the distance they need to deliver.
2) The market centre/town/district that it resides in.

Charges can vary from RM3 - RM10 monthly. You will need to check with your newspaper vendor on this.

Thanks for your reply.

You are pushing for digital but yet sending papers.

We should save some trees.

You should let people opt for paperless.

*
The recipient / subscriber of the newspaper has to pay for the paper delivery charges monthly. The charges are determined by your newspaper vendor.

The charges vary as you might be subscribing to 2 or more newspaper; and or sometimes daily but a different weekend newspaper.

Normally the newspaper vendor will come to your house once a month to collect his delivery charges, and also to collect the coupon/voucher for the Malay Mail newspaper you're subscribing to.

*

So if I live in KL, but want the newspaper to be delivered to my family in, say, Kuantan. The vendor will visit my family's house to collect his delivery charges and coupon/voucher?

Another question, during registration I opt for 1 device, however I have changed my mind and want 3 devices actually. Can I buy 3 devices?

Buyers will have the option of picking up their unit(s) at our ground events. But this will be announced accordingly.

Kindly share more details regarding this......
Does this mean there will not be a RM35 delivery charge and subscriber can get the tablets on the spot?

But your website clearly stated that the tablets will only be available starting 21st March

Once the newspaper delivery is confirmed with the newspaper vendor (which will be arrange by the Malay Mail circulation team), a set of vouchers will be delivered to the newspaper subscriber i.e. in this case your family's house.

For your second question, yes you may add additional devices (but each with a newspaper subscription).

please refer to below situation,

1 address, 1 device = 12 months subscription
1 address, 2 devices = 24 months subscription ?
1 address, 3 devices = 36 months subscription ?
2 address, 3 devices = 12 months and 24 months subscription ?

can you clarify this? newspaper subscription will auto-end once period of subscription over?

if, 1 address, 2 devices = 24 months subscription, can we, subscribers, opt for 12-months (means 2 newspapers delivered to us every time)? what about delivery charges imposed on us?

Hi. Here's how it works after you have completed your Order Process.

Scenario 1:
If you have made payment, received a confirmation screen + saved your receipt, that means your subscription has been accepted.

You will be contacted by the Malay Mail Circulation team in the next 2 weeks to process your newspaper subscription and delivery. You will also be called to arrange the News vendor etc.

In the meantime, your tablet delivery is also in process. Deliveries of tablet will only begin after March 21, 2014 onwards.

Scenario 2:
If you did not receive a (i) confirmation screen, (ii) no receipt (or did not save the receipt) and (iii) or Error on the confirmation screen - then kindly email circulation@mmail.com.my. You may also call our Contact Centre at +603 2023 1888.

We have received some feedback on 'error' messages on completion of transactions and are investigating those minor incidences. Please do be patient as we are going through all your request and enquiries.

You can PM us on Malay Mail Facebook Page (facebook.com/themalaymailnewspaper) with your Full name, NRIC and Order Code (Example: RA01-009811-31) or Payment Number (Example: MAL0000RA010097113208) - and we can help you confirm your order status.

Once again thank you for your support and patience.

We have added some additional support lines. Please channel all your enquiries to +603-7495 1248 or +603 7495 1063.

The overall cost of ownership covers;

Subscription (RM288 or RM538 for paper subscription + tablet) + Tablet Delivery (RM35 per unit throughout Malaysia) + News Vendor (Monthly charges RM3-RM10 for paper delivery)

We currently do not have a self-collect option.

Please do email circulation@mmail.com.my and explain your issues for our team to check the matter for you.

When you email them please include the following:-

Full Name
NRIC
Contact No. (Mobile)

Where possible - please include the Order Code (Which should look like this: RA01-009811-31) or Payment Number (Example: MAL0000RA010097113208).

It would be better we get you a confirmation for all 4 transactions.

BTW we assume all purchases were made with the same name.

Completely lost faith in Malay Mail due to this so called "offer". Took more than two weeks for them to even acknowledged my payment, and has been more than a week since they promised to start processing the deal. Neither Malay Mail or newspaper agent has contacted me since. I am giving this till the end of the week to be settled before I make a case to consumer tribunal based on breach of T&C of 14 day turnaround time.

Received 3 phone calls since my post.

1) Guy from subscription department "explaining" that it's difficult to get a vendor to deliver to my condo. He said they do not have my details from the sign up. Need it again. - (NOT MY PROBLEM)

2) Someone reconfirm my address for paper delivery. - (AGAIN NOT MY PROBLEM)

3) Someone asking if I received paper yet. - (NUFF SAID, SUPER ANNOYED ALREADY)

Each promise delivery after 21st. Will wait for Monday before I raise any more concerns.

Very disappointed with how this has turned out. Lots of talk, but can't see much action.

I bought the samsung tablet package on 21st feb, and I've received it today. These are the problems that I've encountered and no feedback from the Malay Mail has given me so far.

1. the leaflet which comes along with the tablet gives instruction on registering/activating this table. The instruction on the leaflet isn't clearly stated that, we STRICTLY have to activate it before we can access to other apps on the tablet.

This made me stucked at trying to login oriental daily news. I even called up malay mail, and they asked me to try with my name and IC in a various combination and that doesn't work... I realized the staffs in malay mail are not well-trained regarding this deal.

2. I cant even open The Malay Mail ePaper app. It shows me a black screen and keeps giving me this error: A communication error occurred. Please exit the app and try again.

After I've exited and tried again more than 10 times, it doesn't solve. I called up malay mail office and the staff can't solve it. So, no malay mail reading on the tablet till now.

3. My initial plan was giving this tablet to my father and I could access the ePapers via my iPad and note3. I had this idea from its promotion on newspapers: "You can subscribe this deal for the tablet. Keep the tablet yourself even you doesn't read the ePapers. Give the ePapers subscription to others so you could benefit others too"

Well, how should we pass the subscription to others whereby now the subscription is tied to this samsung tab 3? After activated and registered myself on the gr8 app, I couldn't login the username and password for oriental daily news on my iPad app. It shows that the subscription is not freely accessed across any devices.

4. I am supposed to receive my physical newspaper of malay mail by April. However, these 2 days I still receive no papers yet. I'll wait for another few more days before I call up malay mail again.

I am still yet to explore this tablet which I've received 2 hours ago. I am very unhappy with the information given and the service provided by Malay Mail.

If anyone of you are thinking to purchase this tablet as a cheaper price and don't mind waiting for the long delivering time, then go for it.

If you want it for ePapers reading like I do, then don't subscribe to it. Too many limitations and unsolved problem until today.

I've never heard of Malay Mail till this deal. I would say Malay Mail did a good promotion to bring up its popularity and demand among the public. However, due to its poor service and its confusing information, I would rather spend more on ePaper and Physical newspaper of other company which could guarantee a less hassle reading.

can enter android smoothly. It's the ePapers. Have to enter an app called "Gr8 app" and register first. Then use the registered username and password to access every ePapers. If you dont bother about the ePapers, the tablet works fine. It's the ePapers apps are very problematic and not user friendly.

QUOTE(chekloo @ Apr 2 2014, 02:25 PM)

*
Hi, may we have your order code for us to look into your newspaper delivery. If you need assistance with your tablet, please send your query to gr8@mmail.com.my. The epaper is tied to the tablet but the physical newspaper is not. You can choose to send the physical paper to another address. Thanks.

Thanks for replied. I just received the tablet last Wed. But the vendor charge me the delivery fees cost RM10 for Cheras. The news paper per month just RM30, now it charging me 30% of it for delivery for an urban area??

HI! We do not allow an opt out but you can contact our circulation department (circulation@mmail.com.my) to nominate to send the physical copy to a school or an orphanage at no cost to you. The department has a list of schools and orphanages if you have none in mind.
Thanks
