Q. Are there any additional charges?

Q. Who is eligible to sign up for #malaymailgr8deals?
A. All Malaysian citizens and those with Malaysian PR status above the age of 18 can sign up. Non-Malaysians living or working in Malaysia, with a local address, can also sign up for #malaymailgr8deals.

Q. I already subscribe to The Malay Mail. Can I convert this to a #malaymailGr8deals subscription? Or, do I need two different subscriptions?
A. You cannot convert your current subscription. Please do take up a new subscription - we will add another 12 months to your existing newspaper subscription.

But if you prefer your #malaymailGr8deals subscription to commence now, we can arrange for the additional newspaper to be delivered to another address of your choice, including charitable organisations and outstation locations.

The Malay Mail ad is not stating it clearly that the Huawei phablet has only 8GB storage.

Yes the Huawei phablet comes with an 8Gb storage - with an expansion slot of up to 32Gb.

Both are 3G enabled (calls) units or just wifi units?

Forgot the delivery charge? it's 288+35 = 323 and 538+35 = 573

Both units allow mobile phone features, which means you can make phone calls on it.

All you need is to add a SIM card.

Buyers will have the option of picking up their unit(s) at our ground events. But this will be announced accordingly.

Warranty will be provided by the respective device manufacturers.

As for payment - we will have various payment methods made available to our subscribers.

We will be offering our subscribers payment:-
- via Cheque
- via Cash (only for walk-in subscribers at Malay Mail office)

Dear themalaymail,

You should watch you words. Only Huawei tablet have GSM/3G capability.

Samsung Tab 3 SM-T210 as linked to Samsung's page is Wifi only version. Samsung Tab 3 with GSM/3G is SM-T211 and SM-T215,

However, the SM-T210 should be able to.connect to 3G with dogle, but 2G GSM aren't possible.

Yes both Huawei and Samsung are GSM & 3G capable. Both have options add a mobile SIM card to enable telephony and data services.

Issues & Problems trying to Pre-register

We have received some complaints on inability and/or incomplete registration process on our pre-registration site; www.themalaymailonline.com/gr8/.

1) The current site supports CSS, XHTML & HTML 4.0> and supports the latest browsers. Ensure you have the latest browsers to limit errors or discrepancies on the user interface. Newspaper delivery charges is dependent on your neighbourhood paper vendor.

1) Their charges may vary based on the distance they need to deliver.
2) The market centre/town/district that it resides in.

Charges can vary from RM3 - RM10 monthly. You will need to check with your newspaper vendor on this.

How The Malay Malay paper vendor charges use for the delivery? By monthly bill under our name or the recipient whom the paper delivered had to pay for the charges?

The recipient / subscriber of the newspaper has to pay for the paper delivery charges monthly. The charges are determined by your newspaper vendor.

The charges vary as you might be subscribing to 2 or more newspaper; and or sometimes daily but a different weekend newspaper.

Normally the newspaper vendor will come to your house once a month to collect his delivery charges, and also to collect the coupon/voucher for the Malay Mail newspaper you're subscribing to.

can i cancel my subscription of the physical paper after one year?

So if I live in KL, but want the newspaper to be delivered to my family in, say, Kuantan. The vendor will visit my family's house to collect his delivery charges and coupon/voucher?

Another question, during registration I opt for 1 device, however I have changed my mind and want 3 devices actually. Can I buy 3 devices?

At this stage, all tablet will have to be delivered by courier, and will be available / delivered from Mar 21 onwards.

I do not want the physical paper subscription, just need the digital copy. Is tat possible?

The standard rate of newspaper vendor delivery charge is between RM5 to RM10 monthly.

This is a Malay Mail newspaper bundle which includes 12-month subscription plus a 7in tablet, ePapers and apps. You cannot opt for only the e-copy.

You can however send your paper subscription to family & friends.

finally ordered....by phone as online always timeout and transaction error.....

Once the newspaper delivery is confirmed with the newspaper vendor (which will be arrange by the Malay Mail circulation team), a set of vouchers will be delivered to the newspaper subscriber i.e. in this case your family's house.

For your second question, yes you may add additional devices (but each with a newspaper subscription).

The Contact Centre is operational on week days from 9am - 7 pm.

On Sat & Sun, the Contact Centre is operational from 9am - 5pm.

please refer to below situation,

1 address, 1 device = 12 months subscription
1 address, 2 devices = 24 months subscription ?
1 address, 3 devices = 36 months subscription ?
2 address, 3 devices = 12 months and 24 months subscription ?

can you clarify this? newspaper subscription will auto-end once period of subscription over?


if, 1 address, 2 devices = 24 months subscription, can we, subscribers, opt for 12-months (means 2 newspapers delivered to us every time)? what about delivery charges imposed on us?

Other than subscription fee of RM288 and RM 538, as well as delivery charges from RM3 - RM10 monthly, is there any other hidden or incoming charges for this promotion?

Money deducted from bank account but no receipt / confirmation from Malay Mail. All PM have not been replied. Very bad customer service.

Usually, how many days to get response? It's been a few days.....

Hi. Here's how it works after you have completed your Order Process.

Scenario 1:
If you have made payment, received a confirmation screen + saved your receipt, that means your subscription has been accepted.

You will be contacted by the Malay Mail Circulation team in the next 2 weeks to process your newspaper subscription and delivery. You will also be called to arrange the News vendor etc.

In the meantime, your tablet delivery is also in process. Deliveries of tablet will only begin after March 21, 2014 onwards.

Scenario 2:
If you did not receive a (i) confirmation screen, (ii) no receipt (or did not save the receipt) and (iii) or Error on the confirmation screen - then kindly email circulation@mmail.com.my. You may also call our Contact Centre at +603 2023 1888.

We have received some feedback on 'error' messages on completion of transactions and are investigating those minor incidences. Please do be patient as we are going through all your request and enquiries.
