Hi,
I am interested to continue to do my Phd in India, since there is lack of expertise for my research interest in Malaysia. I have found a recognized University over there which is willing to accept my research proposal. And it is relatively cheap. Now, my question is, if i complete my Phd from India, how will it be perceived by Malaysian employers/education community?. Will it be valuable?. Will it be worth for me?..As for your information, i wish to enter into the education line (lecturing) after completing my Phd. Please advice. Thanks.

Just for your information, many of Professors and scholars from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) had academic and PhD background from Indian universities (they are/were Indian & middle eastern nationals). Try to check the staff directories of Kuliyyah of Economics & Management Sciences, Kuliyyah of Engineering, and Kuliyyah of Information & Communication Technology. If local universities such as IIUM recognize these universities, then I think it should be OK for you too.

Most of the lecturers from the university I am currently working in obtained their PhD from India. I dun see any problem there. Summore, they are very knowledgeable in their subject area.

Some academicians have mentioned that the university's ranking is important if you wanna get a job as lecturer. Otherwise, try entering the top local indian universities.
