sad the gentleman's agreement limits the power to 280hp..but still a great car
*
As mentioned in the article...the chassis , engine and the gearbox is capable of so so much more. myb can put a twin charger and mod to max...but then it might spoil the reason of the car existence...monstrous Hp and torque is not always the ultimate purpose...The Nsx type-R also oredy 4.6 second, put a simple turbo good enough d...I think smile.gif

Yes, Gordon Murray used the NSX as a muse to build the McLaren F1 but no way does it imply that the NSX is the same level as the McLaren F1. Hope people don't get the wrong misconception.

The McLaren F1 for me is (and still is) the ultimate supercar. A car engineered ahead of it's time. No other car manufacturer won 24 hours Le Mans race on the first entry and finished 3rd, 4th, 5th and 13th for the other teams using the same car.
*
but cant deny the nsx did heighten the mclaren, it gave the vision and hope that a supercar can have such great handling, daily user friendly and low maintenance is achievable...all of which epitomize by the nsx and did revolutionize the supercar...otherwise, the mclaren would have been benchmark against the F, L , P and what it have achieved may not of be what F1 is today but the Nsx sure did push the envelope for the F1 to achieve what GM could not have envisioned without the Nsx

I agree with what you're trying to say... But the McLaren F1 being low maintenance?  hmm.gif

That I think they have not achieved.  sweat.gif

ya the F1 isnt low maintenance like the nsx, and not low hp n torque and now priced lowly than the nsx too biggrin.gif

Prices are high (if you can find one) because unlike the NSX, the McLaren F1 is indeed a supercar and it's a collector's item.

I would still prefer the Nsx for the rich history, heritage from a company that made low maintenance cheap bike and honda racing which brought F1 experience to the street. McLaren no doubt is a different league and at a supercar price, hands down faster than a ferrari on the straight and a comfort that rivals a bentley is almost ridiculous lol.
But I'm not greedy, the gamechanger bullet proof reliability Nsx ,a car that was purposely built to last at least 20 years will do...I rmb reading it from somewhere that an old nsx which oredy has 150k mileage on it...when dyno-ed, still at the power on wheel like the first day it was delivered as new car...The car is made to last n little headache yet more exotic than a ferrari (on rarity)

5 AT speed no? smile.gif it's relatively low maintenance car of the same segment, its just tht it's really rare n direct import parts so...But if one is wealthy, seriously the car is very bery worth it, it has rich heritage, unique supercar from Honda (unique chassis, suspension, first true vtec car, closest F1 experience, daily friendly supercar, everlasting design, unmistakenly Honda, a 20yr old still impressive car, 280HP NA car) and mostly, it is a landmark car in d supercar world (referring to coz it compete w F L n P..
