Woke up only to watch the injury time and I am glad I did not wake up in time to watch a farce of a match.
Heard the commentator say that Moyes has got the tactics absolutely wrong and MU only had one notable chance in the whole game when Van Persie fired over. This is where I think Moyes is not the right person for the job. Employing tactics shows the intelligence of a Manager and it is not something that can be learnt. It is a gift that Managers either have...or not, and clearly Moyes does not have it. That is why he never got anywhere with Everton. Ferguson did not necessarily had the best team in the BPL or UCL when he won these competitions throughout the years but because he employed the correct tactics most of the time he has managed to achieve great success even with a mediocre team at times. But when it comes to Moyes, a strong team has been reduced to a team of losers because Moyes clearly has failed in the tactical department. Like I said, being a tactical genius is a gift and that is what separates a great Manager from the mediocre ones. It is not something to be gained through experience, maybe a little and talking about experience, Moyes has almost a decade of Premier Leagues experience and has so far achieved nothing. That is why I don't think Moyes is the right person. It is not about the losses this season. It is about his weakness in deploying tactics which I doubt will improve even with more experience. |

Ferguson advised the fans to stand by the new manager but never in his wildest dreams that things can get this bad.
Now he must be shaking his head and muttering "What have I done, what have I done..." |

The reason why the same set of players did so well under Ferguson is because he inspired them and gave them the confidence to perform to their best level, drawing the best out of their talents.
But Moyes have lost the team. He is not an inspiring figure at the club and the players are at the lowest point in their confidence. What is skill and talent if there is no confidence to apply them... So if Moyes stays another season and buys top class players, it is still hopeless as they will probably end up utterly uninspired like the current United squad and we end up with another set of under-performing players... That is why I feel Moyes is not the right person for the job. He lacks the aura and commanding presence which cannot be acquired over time or with experience. |

So MU survived to fight another day. That is good but I doubt we can progress beyond the next round. Olympiakos is just a minnow and yet we huffed and puffed to get past them.
Despite these few good results, I feel Moyes still has to go because he is not the one who can take the club to greater heights. The win has merely delayed his dismissal. |

QUOTE(hocksoo @ Mar 27 2014, 01:30 PM) Because DM has proved that poor manager + world class player = weak club. So no point talking abt buying great player. A fantastic article, or letter if it was really delivered to Mr Clueless. I really hope he reads it. Everything described was spot on, especially "This implies you were looking to make changes from day one. Whilst this seems to be a stock phrase for new managers coming in, we must remember that they do so usually when a club is in turmoil. However, in your case the complete opposite was true, and in fact you should have tried to seamlessly fit in with a club that has had unprecedented success over the last 25 years. Nothing needed to change⦠continuity was the key. You needed to fit into the club, not the other way around!"And I like this letter. Manchester United fan writes open letter to David Moyes http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/manchest...to-david-moyes/ |
