Hi all, need some advice from experienced folks here..

I'm currently using a mibox 3rd gen and looking for an upgrade, as it isn't able to play 1080p h265 HEVC smoothly. I'm only using my box for KODI, AOTG and playing some downloaded vids..

I'm currently undecided between the mibox 6th gen and the minix neo u1. the mibox seems to be better for price/specs and would seem more future proof compared to the neo u1. I'm able to live with a bit of the mibox's shortfalls like it's 2 USB ports and lack of gigabit ethernet port (my router is just next to my box).. mibox doesn't have a play store, but i've been able to install some apps off the 1mobile or shafa market..

anything else i should consider on benefits of the neo u1 over the mibox?

I was able to use AOTG on my Xiaomi MiBox 3rd gen, so I would assume newer gens would be ok as well, if you don't ask the seller to root the box for you. MiBox doesn't with Google Play Store, so you will have to sideload the APK. So in terms of "cheapest", I would say that Xiaomi would be cheaper than the Minix.

anyone here using custom launchers? just got my hands on the minix neo u1 yesterday, and wondering if there are better launchers.. the last discussion here on custom launchers was from almost a year ago and wondering if you guys are using something else now..

the main thing i dislike on the minix launcher is the big kodi tile is actually just a folder, and i'll need an extra click to get to the app i need..

I'm planning to evaluate SquareHome 2, which seems to be the favourite on minixforum, and TVLauncher, which seems real clean and simple..

any other suggestions/recommendations?
