Hi all bros, wanna ask for advice. My current set up at home is a Plasma TV to my current BD Player cum Media Player which supports all audio&vids to my Yamaha 5.1 amps. Question now I wanna get a tv box/media player to replace my current unit.

options
hi media or mi box 3 enhanced?

i will watched lotsa downlaoded 1080p dts movies most of the time. but at the same to be able to watch or stream online shows for my kids and wife. my eye set on the mi box but wanted to get some feedback from all the pros in here. TIA
*
I somewhat "feel" that for downloaded movies which is played via AC Ryan Mini thru 5.1 on my Onkyo has better output results overall compared to via Q16

For beginners, you could opt to buy online for a pretty good spec

1GB RAM + 8GB ROM in 2016.. IMO, those are hardly pretty good specs.. A couple years ago or a very simple user? Yeah.. But hardly sufficient for today's average user. Plus manufacturer support may be nonexistent.
*
Yeah 1GB ram but comes with new higher processor and at that entry price of less than $120 for testing out Kodi or purely for watching drama and movies, I'd honestly think it's more suffice for beginners who wants to try out this"territory"😂😂😂

That's true, it would depend on each expectation eg my area, Penghulu, he's got this old android, running 1GB, he's happily using Kodi to watch SALTS, Exodus and Phoenix. This is placed in his living room while his upper living room has HyppTV for domestic channels etc

He doesn't have any HT in the living, simple expectation

ya i knew is IPTV, but they name theirs "HDTV", on trial, pay nothing
*
Then you should also try another type myiptv, just to collate the quality stream and channels... Most Chinese would go for the latter

Finally took a dive and got the M8s android TV
Connected it via ethernet and video runs really smoothly for most apps.

Currently looking for providers for documentaries/chinese/korean dramas.

How much do you pay for myiptv per year/month ?
I tried looking for it online but I can't seem to find anything concrete.
There are various dealers, one seem to charge RM310 per year. At that price, I might just subscribe to Netflix. But Netflix doesn't have everything I want.

Also, are there any lag or video compression issues ?

At present, Kodi fulfills all my family expectations..... I'm so dependant on it to a point I've got extra android box in case one fails

Finally received the package few days back. As expected, the device is fast and smooth. Excellent WiFi connection. The remote controller is quite ok though it does feel & look cheap (what do you expect for this kinda price).

However it came or installed with Kodi 16.0 which was having problem especially when u need to skip or fast forward, so I had to reinstall with Jarvis 16.1. once that done everything else just worked like a charm

The other is Beelink GT1 at US$79.19 (RM317+-) which is waiting for arrival notice...

Considering either of this to upgrade from my Beelink MiniMXIII... Hopefully can get cheaper in sale... laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Didn't encounter anything with customs with all my orders with gearbest, aliexpress, ebay or banggood...

If you got ordered more than US40 with gearbest, request them to use Kerry Express for your order... They are the fastest from China to Malaysia... Less than 2 weeks compared to Nordic Post or Singpost which takes 4 weeks or more...
*
Yup no problem here too.

Thought Kerry Express is std?

Tempted to buy Mini M8S II from GB. Can we setup hypptv on it? How about it's performance compared to stock STB from unifi (Huawei EC6108V8) ? Any pros and cons that i should take notes?

I've tried by downloading from Play Store cos mine is Android Lollipop but after signing in, it just can't play. Error 111

Both are good. I'm very pleased with the WiFi connection as the distance from the router was more than 10 meter different floor
