hk/canto, taiwan, china, korean, japanese stuff...

there are many variations - japanese with chinese subs, korean with eng subs, canto with no subs... biggrin.gif

my experience:

kodi - in azdrama and dramago, chinese, jap, korean... most have eng subs. but selection may be limited.

other apps like vst, moretv, togic, mango, puding - these are all china apps - besides the bulk in mandarin audio/chinese subs, there is jap/kor/taiwan in original language audio and chinese subs. hk/canto stuff usually dubbed in mandarin, chinese subs.

so, if one MUST have eng subs, not much choice other than what u get in kodi.

awesome info.. will check all that into the mediabox once i gotten it.. thanks yo smile.gif

FYI, I use Genasis. In the playlist, there are HD, HQ, MQ and 1080p. I always choose the HD one. I already tweaked the advancedsetting.xml to solve my buffering issue. But, the stream still buffering badly. After a few minutes streaming it paused to buffer. I thought with 10mbps internet should be no buffering. So, I thought it must be the box or config issue.

Im also got the same problem with Genesis. Always buffering. FYI, im using UNIFI 30 and Minix X8-H plus and already tweak the setting. Dont know what the problem

Yes. Minix neo x7 mini.
Still using the default xbmc Gotham.
I find it is more smoother than kodi.

Hmmm, strange...Same box model + VIP10 + Latest KODI 15.2 and no buffering via Ethernet. What are the settings in your advancedsettings.xml file? Recheck if it's in the proper location and also that nothing major like a torrent client is running on your network.

Edit: Could also be a source problem... Sources like GVideo, VK and "something"gold/lab, have worked best IMO.

Yes. IMHO most of the time source server overload or bandwidth restrictions. Usually just keep trying other sources until one that is OK.

If very bad just watch a different show and come back to it later.

I cleared the cache and now my box played HD tv shows on Genesis smoothly till the end.

Now, I'm trying to find bluray quality movies add-on to play on kodi. Care to suggest a good add-on for bluray movies?

Yup, same here... Launching it throws an error, will look into resolving that. As for Movies4k.to....... If you have Fusion Tvaddons.ag installed, go to its addon installer > From Repositories > Elezear's Repo > Video Addons.... Its in there. For now, launching it also throws an error, will look into resolving that as well. Some suggest trying it with a VPN.

Yes correct.
If you dont need those but just need drama/movies, Kodi app is more than sufficient.

take note a lot of those "subscriptions" are illegitimate; you pay upfront lumpsum.

astro, hypptv NEVER allow others to sell their channels for them.

however, if u spend enough time and effort, there are a lot of free channels although not 100% reliable or not HD.

Dear sifus,

I'm planning on getting an android TV box to replace Astro for my parents. Nothing to watch on Astro anymore. Keep repeating the same series over and over. mad.gif

Basically to watch China, HK, Taiwan series/movies, Taiwan live news update and English series/movies. Can someone recommend a good one? I was hoping for one which can support Kodi. Been looking at Xiaomi MiBox but read somewhere that the RAM is not enough to support Kodi caching which causes Kodi to freeze/crash. rclxub.gif

My budget is around RM300-RM500. My TV is not a smart TV but has HDMI connection. Internet streamyx 4mbps considering to upgrade to unifi 5mbps.

Thank you! rclxms.gif
