guys... again, let's be reminded that some of these "iptv" are illegitimate, even illegal.

we should not discuss them in detail in a public forum.

let's not get admin into trouble, astro staff/lawyers may be reading.

if anything, can do pm, keep it private and low profile.

Thanks for the heads up.
Tot it was grey/ok as everyone was talking about it.

Finally took a dive and got the M8s android TV
Connected it via ethernet and video runs really smoothly for most apps.

Currently looking for providers for documentaries/chinese/korean dramas.

How much do you pay for myiptv per year/month ?
I tried looking for it online but I can't seem to find anything concrete.
There are various dealers, one seem to charge RM310 per year. At that price, I might just subscribe to Netflix. But Netflix doesn't have everything I want.

Also, are there any lag or video compression issues ?

At present, Kodi fulfills all my family expectations..... I'm so dependant on it to a point I've got extra android box in case one fails

Thanks for the fast reply biggrin.gif

1. Using openvpn normally for region restriction , you should know some streaming apps only able to stream on selected country , even youtube https://www.youtube.com/user/bwf also can be set so can't watch badminton match live before Qfinals and not knowing which channel showing specific sports on this coming Rio.

2. Actually my question is about , which TVbox support over two 2.5 external hard disk simultaneously plugin where able to provide 2 5v of power output.2 USB port with 5v output support.

3. I understand , different manufacturer and brand having different kernel support of mounting extra format.Just asking whether which brand support ext4 mounting or HFS+ for apple without root.

4. I do understand it get slower when it load but if I had installing few HD games it can easily filling up the space . Just a simple FF9 , COD and etc will take 2GB.

5. Since it shipped with backup , then I'd the best to restore them.

6. Sometimes , root access really needed for some reason behind , taking example of not enough ram , bloated preinstall build apps that cannot be delete without root user and etc.

Anyhow thanks for the reply , so Minix Neo U1 fits all ? I'll try to find out more goggling on it but the price is a bit sweat.gif .

1. Yup, I'm aware and OpenVPN does work on the Neo U1.
2. I own a couple of hard disks (1 TB each).. Phillips and some brand name that's "washed off" and I can't seem to recollect the brand. Also a couple of thumb drives (8GB, 2 16GBs, a 128GB & a Samsung 256GB USB 3.0).. Plus a 3TB WD external HD with its power brick. All these USB drives have been tested and function satisfactorily on the Neo U1. Partitions are either FAT32 or NTFS format.
3. EXT4 support is definitely available1 on the Neo U1 too.
4. Very true... Guess you may need the extra storage space then. Do prioritize properly.. graphics intensive games may not display or "play" properly if being read of a slower memory than smooth performance demands.
5. Okay.
6. Totally understood... However, Minix tends to ship their devices as close to stock as possible.. The biggest sized pre-installed app would probably be the XBMC For Minix app. I strongly recommend you leave that installed due to optimizations by the Minix devs.

You are welcome... Tis true that the Neo U1 is a bit pricey, but it does come with certain perks... I.E a manufacturer that stands by its box and a thriving community. Hey, even at its price point, its still much cheaper than say the Nvidia Shield Box powered by Android TV... nod.gif nod.gif

Edit: Update on USB drives. I plugged in 2 drives at once.. The 3TB and a regular ext hard disk.. No issues powering & accessing files off both drives. I currently do not possess the proper equipment to accurately measure the Neo U1's USB ports' output and so can't deliver more info than has been shared.

I would like to do a survey here after trying a new TV box recently. Noted a significant difference in the speeds, startup, shutdown etc.

Seeing a faster response is indeed comforting. Ha. So would like to compile some data and share later. This may also determine which TV box I get later! Ha.

Appreciate your inputs as below:

TV box model:

Cold startup time (from power on to seeing the internet connection and time on the screen):
AA=

Shutdown time (from pressing shutdown button on remote to seeing the red light on the TV box):
BB=

KODI aspects

Startup time (from clicking on the Kodi icon to seeing the full root menu on the screen (this may be skin dependant)):
CC=
Shutdown time (from clicking on the QUIT/STOP button on the screen to getting out of Kodi):
DD=

Many thanks!

P/S Just state the following in your reply
TV box model =
AA=
BB=
CC=
DD=

Still waiting for your input. Got only 1 PM so far. Hope that more can contribute.

Really appreciate inputs from those with the high end TV boxes like Nvidia Shield, MINIX NEO U1, WeTek Core, Amazon Fire TV 2, Roku 4 etc.

Thanks.

What youtube version are you using? Or Kodi? If it's the KODI addon, it's normal.

Its not the device but the youtube version.

The one in kodi and a standalone one meant for generic devices can do up to 720p only.

There is another version specifically for androids that can do up to 1080p.

There one more version for uhd4k tvs that do up to 2160p.

For the same video, if it comes in 1080p or 2160p quality.

You can try google "OGYouTube" and "microg for OGYT". This will allow you to watch YouTube at 1080p and 1440p. The app also allowed you to download YouTube video resolution from 144p to 2160p.
##You must install the app " microg for OGYT " to be able to use the application OGYouTube

Majority (if not all) box users prefer using a physical remote (IR, Bluetooth, etc) and or a wireless keyboard, mouse or Combo.. Much easier. It's recommended to get one.

Edit: Using a a Minix box? There's an official android remote (Minix only) that also doubles as a game controller (last I used it).

Interesting.. hmm.gif.. Based on bluetooth tech, it should work.. Probably on a box by box basis.. Unfortunately, I do not currently possess a set of bluetooth headphones to test..

Any method to force Sony Android TV to pair with Bluetooth audio handfree adapter without root/jailbreak?
