How is the picture quality? Is the box good as comparing with Minix Neo U1
*
Definitely better because maximum display resolution is 4K 60Hz.
It's faster, bigger flash (32GB) and bigger RAM (3GB).
I've been using since Nov, so far no problem.

Planing to get new box for living room use, currently own a minix x8h-plus

Been headache in choosing neo u1 with older spec/high price tag but better firmware support or go for those S912 with 3GB/32GB...

*
I own both Minix X8h (3 years) and newly acquired S912 H96 Pro Plus 3/32 gb. Minix is very reliable, whereas the other one still need time to tell. But thedifferences between S912 and the older neo u1 are hugh!

If u want to stick with minix, wait for u9

You meant your older x8h right?

Yup, mine is the even older minix x8h but still perform well. I rarely shut it down!

Guys, what's your processor's thermal reading? Mine fluctuates between 50 - 70 depending the usage. I thought that's pretty high and might harm the box in the long term. Though I understood the processors are built to withstand high temperature.

Nevertheless I modified a bit my H96 Pro Plus cooling system by replacing the rather small original heat sink with a bigger one.

Now the temperature fluctuate between 38 - 51 only biggrin.gif

I put a suction type cooling fan on top of the box (of course need couple of holes drilled)

Alright thx.

Actually the more powerful the box is it means it can play more files?
*
Decent brand like Minix & Himedia are well built and also have good support like firmware upgrade. Of course they're a bit pricey. But not necessarily means it can play more files. I would say they'll cause less trouble compare to others.

If you want some adventures, buy a relatively expensive unbranded one like the one I bought recently, Alfawise H96 Pro+. I would say it's a good box, causing me no trouble so far after almost 3 months. Of course time will tell if it'll live up to my expection like my existing three year old Minix, which I let it switched on 24/7.

i wonder how much memory of your box shown in kodi?
*
I'm using 3gb ram box as well. In kodi setting I set it to 500mb (after multiplied by 3 of course). So far 4K play smoothly

Hi all, first of all a big thank you to all sifus here as I have learned so much about android tv box and recently purchased one myself. Just received 2 days ago and able to use it with all the tips given here. 😊 However, I wish to seek some advise, is it advisable to unplug the power of tv box when not in use? Or would it be better to leave it on standby mode until next use (as we does with android phones)? Thanks!
*
I just leave it 24/7.
