hi guys, i am looking for the media box that can play bluray remux file, 40 GB MKV file, any recommend? budget arounf 200-300

Premium brands Media boxes 5 years ago can do that.

Most premium android boxes boxes today can do.

Matter of whether it can pass thru HD audio only.

Check specs when buying, Look for mkv, ISO, m2ts. Impt here, should be fine.

If no there, the box is either very obsolete or meant for traveling, use in hotels, etc.

Hmm.. That's quite a dilemma there. Typically, with just plugging it in, Windows should try to install what it thinks to be the best drivers. Between that and manually installing every android driver for PC you can find, which will leave your system vulnerable to virus/malware infections. It's hard to get such help without the manufacturer chipping in. Which is why, most advise to only get boxes from manufacturers that offer decent after sales support through firmware updates, etc.

Those having 3 year old android boxes, dun throw it away.

If firmware and apps are good, they stay good! biggrin.gif

I totally cleaned up my Himedia q5ii non.emmc 1/8gb jellybean.

It works good with wifi 50ft for many things.

Mobdro, Kodi, buding, tvplus2.0, hdp, YouTube...

Just too little resource and memory to do popcorn and kodi quasar properly.

But the strange part is after I plugged in the cable nothing is shown at the device manager as if nothing is inserted at all, not even unknown device.

Hmm.. Try this. Using a different USB port, shutdown the box. Leave it connected to the power, connect it to the USB port on the PC. Then press and hold the power on button on the box for a couple of seconds. Monitor if that triggers any responses from the connected PC. Being Android, it has to have some recovery/download mode for flashing. This method (if applicable), usually forces most boxes into such a mode, and triggering a Windows driver install.

i prefer to use wireless mouse.

Yes I use one and it's functions are necessary. There are many apps out there that are written for touchscreen usage and not remote control. So the Airmouse or a regular mouse or trackpad simulates touching the screen.

I also use a wireless mouse at the moment.
There's so many air mouse out there, but build quality is questionable. I'm tempted to try those with keyboard combination on the air mouse. If anyone has particular good experience with certain model, please share here and state how long you've used it (reliability concern... biggrin.gif ). notworthy.gif

Oh.... this type of air mouse has notebook like touch pad..... I prefer those point and click air mouse which is more intuitive to control the mouse. Even on notebook I found it rather tedious to control the mouse using touch pad doh.gif

The ads claimed that it has back lit buttons somemore... really?

I never watch TV in the dark as my middle range 55" TV is not very good with dark scene, I also find it quite taxing on the eyes watching bright screen in the dark. Since you have dedicated home theater room I guess you must have top end projector for movie watching thumbup.gif
