for u and others looking for an android box, it will benefit u if u specify a few things so that users of diff boxes, brands and models can comment with a focus and not shoot everywhere and anywhere!

.. want eng subs, chinese subs, whatever subs...?
.. want movies or tv shows or live tv, what languages... give examples.
...must have live sports incl all epl?
.. can accept sd or only want hd?
.. want hd audio (dtshdma, dd truehd) pass thru for yr home theater?
.. want legit iptv like netflix, iflix, astro on the go, hypptv everywhere?

just don't say "i want everything" because that does not exist and even if it does, it will cost u everything.

with a budget of rm500 - 600, go for minix. stable box, high end spec. been using it since aug last year

after reading nearly 50pages in this 72 pages thread I like to know which of the android boxes can run iflix and Kodi realibly? Netflix optional, but iflix and Kodi is a must.

This will be an upgrade to my Matricom Midnight g2 that now cannot run Kodi (only the preinstalled XBMC) as there are no more support.

I have been looking at himedia but the seller told me no support for iflix. Mibox have very small storage (although i do like the ac wifi)

Budget around RM500, if you can suggest realiable seller i will be

Noted something strange lately.

Having long delay when using Kodi BUT same speed as before while using apps outside Kodi.

I know there is a problem with some internet under-sea cables.

Maybe so happened that Kodi signals go through the partly damaged route while apps go through a different route (via India-Europe)?

Just wondering.

Hope the cables will be repaired soonest. Even my daily The Star web browsing is becoming a pain. Ha.

yes, himedia CANNOT run iflix.

no much comment on what other boxes can or cannot.

Yeah, I can live outout iflix at the moment since the quality is SD, but if it's survived to improve their service to HD in future, i will have 1 less option for streaming source unless they decided to support himedia at that time.

himedia can run netflix but only in sd, whatever package u pay.

astro-on-the-go and hypptv everywhere - they used to work, but no more, been blocked.

yes, it is sad that some of these good apps no longer work.

i now get netflix hd/uhd and iflix on my smart android tv. newest 4k smart tv's are certified by many parties, can do a few more things than generic box androids.
