Where can i buy X7? Not much seller located in the forum after i did some searches.
I am using Maxis Fibre 10MB with HDMI LCD.

Quite new to this and looking for TV Box that can
- watch old HK movies (1990s), HK series, English movies, MTV, Live sports.
- Preferably able to control with my Android phone/ wireless mouse.
- can play external HDD movies or stream wireless with my PC via DLNA?
- budget around RM 300 - RM500

Any recommendations?

and you can get minix neo u1 now, it does a better job than X8, it supports a maximum resolution up to 4K 60fps, HDMI 2.0, you can buy from stores in some other countries if you can wait for half a month, even longer time, I got my MINIX NEO U1 tv box from China last month and arrived last week.

New to this TV box thing. To prepare for my next upgrade, appreciate some feedback on examples of TV Box in 3 classes using car brand as reference:

AA
BMW

BB
Toyota

CC
Kancil

Thanks.

Subjective... We here try to avoid such ranking.. Read the thread.. Multiple devices have been mentioned. Make an educated decision based off posts, reviews & videos showing performance.. Then there's budget.. What's good for me might suck badly for you.. There's no perfect (Rolls-Royce) box.. Please Read!!

Thank you. smile.gif

Edit: Questions or requests about a particular box are welcomed.. Oh yeah, IMO, a debt free Camry > debt ridden BMW.. tongue.gif

Thanks for your points.

I do not believe in brand names and do not go for the best products (paying a lot more for something slightly better) but the best of the mid range. Value for money. I am hoping to cut my study short by looking at the "Toyota" category and then study 2 or 3 brands in detail. I did that with Himedia H8 and Minix neo x8-h plus and later bought H8. And by the way, hope that the 2 are in the same category and I was not comparing apple with durian! Ha.

Cheerio.

after some time here in this thread reading all the comments, i am quite sure a premium android box with sufficient knowledge and effort put in it and with good broadband will produce very satisfying results.

the difference lie in the details of which apps work a bit better or worse, need for certain features.

needless to say, "cheap things not good, good things not cheap".

let's just hope that gomens who want control and corps that want profits do not make it too difficult for us in time to come. laugh.gif

Hi guys...newbie here wanna learn about Android TV Box. I'm currently using an 8 years old of WDTV Gen 1 (yeah...still alive and kicking).

Any reseller here which can do demo at his/her shop in KL? I'm staying at Balakong Selangor? Please PM me.

I'm interested at XiaoMi Mi Box. Prefer English Menu and rooted with goodies. smile.gif

Understood.. We all want value for money... Just don't let the durian lovers get you and yeah both boxes appear to be in the same weight class. I'd still pick the Neo X8-H Plus over the H8 Octa-core.. biggrin.gif

Hi and welcome.. Your best chance at contacting sellers would be the garage section. Also, with the more popular boxes, there are videos & reviews online that give some idea about looks, features and real world performance. Try YouTube & Freaktab...

Tried a reinstall? Also, as an M8S user, could you write a review or opinion on the box's performance so far...? To help others like "kakisemut" with decision making.. smile.gif
