If you look at it positively, Sturridge has the confidence to try some really audacious attempts and the fact that he's scored to many goals strengthens his claim to go for goal when he sees the opportunity. I get that this may cause frustration especially to players in better positions but I'd not want him to be scared of going for goal.

When Xabi Alonso scored from his own half, Gerrard was going to bite his head off before it went it and his mood changed to one of celebration when it did. The same goes for Sturridge. When he scores, everyone will be happy but this means we will have to tolerate it when he's selfish and misses.

That being said, he could do with a higher level of awareness. Suarez is starting to contribute a lot more in this respect. His chip to Sturridge for our third goal was inch perfect.

Reina left for Napoli to stake his claim for a starting berth in Brazil. He's since been relegated to no.2 after a promising start in Naples. The club are looking to sign another keeper and it's very likely Reina will return after his loan spell is over. The problem is he's still being plagued by the same poor form that saw him leave the club.

Aye. When we played them in 2005, our fans made it a point to visit their own memorial in honour of the Karaiskakis Stadium disaster that claimed 21 of their lives. There were pictures of our lads carrying wreaths. Great mutual respect between the clubs.

Respect to Olympiakos. Hope they twat the mancs in the 2nd leg and move on.
