I don't think people quite realize how lucky we are to have BR right now and how easily it would for both us and him to part ways. His contract is due to expire soonish - this makes him a primary candidate for other clubs. The manc, spurs and perhaps even Arsenal are probably monitoring his contract situation.
When you add his young age, coaching skills, low profile stature and football philosophies, you get a promising manager whose style of football is so flexible that he can almost fit in with any club.
And BR is very ambitious - he has left clubs without even giving it a second thought to fullfill his ambition. If he gets a better offer while this club screws him around for whatever reasons, i wouldn't put it past him to pack up his gear and leave.
It will be a hard time if and when Suarez leaves. But if BR leaves, it will a disaster of epic proportion.
Indeed. If we fail to lock him down and he leaves we'll be building from scratch again. I find it perplexing that there are still people like Dillion's mate who at this juncture are still calling for BR to be sacked. I can only deduce that such people really have no clue, there can be no other reason. I think Rodgers deserves a pat on the back even from his harshest critics for his work so far.
I don't some realise the significance of vastly improving the performances of a team comprising of the same players we've had last season. To compound matters he's lost key players injury for large parts of the season and it's credit to him that he's managed to extract the best out of the players who have come in to fill those vacancies.
In terms of managing expectations, I would only expect lalangs to change their opinions of the team, manager and players after every game. In my opinion, 3-5 years is how long you should give a manager to make an impact. Some can't wait 6 months so go figure.
