On a scale of 10 in terms of difficulty... this will be a 12
You need to know/have the following just to get started. 1) What type of LCD it is...support LVDS? 2) The pinout of the connector 3) You need a controller board...this one is a major bummer. |

QUOTE(Hackezkk @ Jul 11 2006, 05:34 PM) the LCD is from Compaq notebook--> this doesn't mean anything as Compaq (like every brand) uses a multitude of panels from different manufacturer. cotnroller board? i dunno anything u can see at the picture --> Basically a desktop LCD monitor that plugs and play into ur vga card has 3 main parts... LCD panel (you have..notebook version), backlight inverter (you have also) and controller board ( which you don't have b'cos its from a notebook) That's just the basic...you also need to know the pinout's of everything you have. |

Dood... that's a link on how to remove a LCD screen.
Let me rephrase: In a desktop LCD monitor. VGA card --> Control board + inverter --> LCD Panel In notebook. Motherboard talks directly to LCD panel and inverter. You don't have the control board which translate what the vga signal says to the panel. Finding a control board is the difficult part...else I would've done it already Edit: Ok...done some googling for you. Have a read here: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=51040 This post has been edited by sniper on the roof: Jul 11 2006, 06:08 PM |

the problem is to make the data cable goes to the VGA cable......many people think that by removing the LCD, they can just go plug and play without any hassle..........
