QUOTE(enemyofgod @ Nov 2 2008, 10:32 PM) Thread still alive?..amazing response bro.. Preston North End 2 Southampton 3. This was a real game of two halves with Southampton producing a great second-half comeback to win 3-2 after trailing 2-0 at half-time.Jason Euell was injured in the warm-up and had to be replaced by Lloyd James with Oscar Gobern on the bench.Saints made two substitutions at half-time, bringing on Gobern and Bradley Wright-Phillips for Ryan Smith and James. It was 2-1 in the 63rd minute when Andrew Surman won a corner and took it left-footed and debutant Alex Pearce, on loan from Reading, rose highest to nod home from close range. In the 68th minute it was 2-2 when Jack Cork crossed and St Ledger made a mistake and substitute Gobern crossed the ball over to Surman, who dived to head the ball home. The winner came in the 90th minute when David McGoldrick broke through the middle of the pitch, beating Youl Mawene before firing into the bottom right-hand corner of the net to break Preston's hearts. - Southampton's David McGoldrick after scoring the third goal. Added on January 5, 2009, 2:14 amUnlucky for MU that this was Davis's on form night, or else they would have easily 5 or 6 If only Davis plays like this every match, and not only in one or two matches. Davis was man of the Match. This is a Pundek.

QUOTE(FauxHawk @ Apr 6 2009, 12:30 PM) Saints 2 Charlton 3. Over 27,000 fans crammed into St. Mary's, flocking to the stadium with a combined sense of fear and purpose. All realised that "survival" is no longer just about this year's futile battle against relegation. Not for the first time this season, the players were unable to rise to the occasion.

QUOTE(Vagine @ Apr 7 2009, 08:21 PM) Thanks! I hope we will rise from this major set-back. Added on April 10, 2009, 4:46 pmWatford 2 Southampton 2. A point may not be enough to keep Southampton in the Championship regardless of the outcome of the Football League's independent inquiry, but if Mark Wotte's men do pull off what is looking like an unlikely escape they may have a lot to thank Jan-Paul Saeijs for. Added on April 12, 2009, 4:47 pmWolverhampton Wanderers 3 Southampton 0. Southampton have now gone seven games without a win and, coupled with their off the field problems, their future looks far from bright. This post has been edited by PIRATES!: Apr 12 2009, 04:52 PM

QUOTE(kink_ass @ Apr 16 2009, 10:51 PM) I no big fan of Soton actually, but I've always used them in FIFA and FIFA manager games Jst like fallen giants Leeds, I believe they belong up there in the premiership. One thing I like bout Soton is that new talents always seem to emerge from their academy! Walcott Lallana care to help me name some more? Anyway, just here to lend my support Gareth Bale. Added on April 17, 2009, 4:03 pmQUOTE(swks26 @ Apr 16 2009, 11:06 PM) Argghhh, It's sad to see the Saints falling behind. I'm not really a fan of the team but I'd like seeing them play. I remember the days with James Beatie and Kevin Philips, like those plays. My dad is a fan though ahahhah! Studied in Southampton and became a fan. University of Southampton?Bio-medical? QUOTE(swks26 @ Apr 22 2009, 07:56 PM) Mmm, the only (former)Saints I know is.. 1. Danny Higginbottom 2. Rory Delap 3. Anti Niemi 4. James Beatie 5. Peter Crouch 6. Theo Walcott 7. Kevin Philips 8. Fernandez ( not sure about his full name though. I think he was a left footed player. Played real well. ) Ehehehe, sorry if I spelled any names wrongly or if I got any info wrong. My hero. Steve MoranMoran was without doubt one of the finest ever strikers that Southampton has ever possessed. He had a knack of scoring some crucial goals for the club and had a fine understanding with Steve Williams and David Armstrong up front. He was a fast striker who was honoured as the PFA Young player of the year in 1982.
