QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Mar 11 2014, 01:34 PM)
it's to reduce/prevent heat expansion of the hose (stock rubber hoses expands quite easily) so that when you're cooking your brakes over 200-300 Celcius or more, the braking feel is still linear and won't feel spongy.
this is what most people won't deal with and to them the cable tie would most likely have zero effect

A secondary effect is to reduce/prevent the expansion rate of the rubber as it ages.
this is evident comparing Vyraz 's car and mine as his is on 90k km/3+ years iinm? and the hoses are about 10-20% thicker than mine and feels a bit spongy/soft while mine is stiffer.
this is what most people may be interested if they intend to keep the car and never sell it (at least 3-5 or more years of usage, considering the hose did got expanded slightly about 3+ years of time)

of course yeah, you CAN use steel braided brake hoses which are MUCH BETTER however the going price for inspira/lancers for such hose kits are between 500-1k+ iinm.
http://www.thousand.com.my/index.php?m=pro...D=101&proID=302 (RRP RM580)

the cable tie costed rm50/100 pieces via ace hardware (supposedly high temp high strength outdoor usage etc fancy american shit but made in china lel), we used 260+ for 4 wheels.

=edit=
to add in, yes i have steel braided for my iswara which are also from IMP and i really like the responsive braking feel.

although honestly i only replaced them because the iswara was 12-13 years (at that time) old, and the brake hoses were pretty fat and the outer rubber were already flaky/cracking which could be a potential safety issue especially i do cook the iswara brakes to over 350 Celsius (or more)

next diy.. insufflex on the aircond hose....
to make the air cond temp slightly colder. (as if its not cold enough)

well... honestly, i havent driven it since i did the diy yesterday (coz i dont drive it except weekends)

but in theory, what the thing does (if done properly) is that when the air cond is set in a specific temp (not like there is an accurate temp setting there but for example 25 degrees), the aid cond will be able to provide you with that temp without interference from the outside like on a hot sunny day. it will function like it should in regulating the temp for your air cond like it would be at night and the heat or the atmosphere nor engine heat causes a "hot aircond" or slow temp control.

RCS clubman series suspension LYN Inspira group buy

interested pls put ur name

Package
- 10MOQ RM3.1k
- inclusive 2x free tuning for your preference
- servicing rm350/piece.
- expected 6 month down the road for RCS team to develop 1 way adjustable for your spirited driving/tracking needs wink.gif
tentative upgrade package is 1k full set.
- comes with steel CNC machined top mount that will last better than the stock top mount and most importantly, matching with your RCS set worth ~RM800
Of course if you prefer lighter weight and better feedback due to thinner size, you can opt for the aluminum top mount that's around RM2k. (can nego with them to contra with the including top mount pricing)

At the moment we are also negotiating with RCS to arrange a group Sepang session (should be cheaper rate) so that they can provide a walkthrough session on getting to know their suspension and how your car handles better wink.gif

Important details
recommended Service interval is 1 year/20k km whichever first(however if you cheapskate, there are owners that never serviced their RCS for more than 2 years)
Warranty is 1 year/30k km whichever first
Servicing is RM350/piece
tuning RM800

Features
- Less nvh issue compared to other brands out there due to standard upright monotubes instead of inverted monotubes - and of course better comfort for your daily ride!
- Everything except for the front top mount will be using EXISTING mounting/fitting as per your car's original specs, no irreversible modifications required, basically plug and play.
- And yes, with 5k front 4k rear springs, it's not an issue to achieve daily ride comfort while at the same time thanks to their velocity sensitive damping - digressive/progressive technology, performance is also achievable for your spirited driving thumbup.gif

While it is unfortunate that there are no inspira test car available as we are THE FIRST to do it; so be among the pioneers to experience digressive/progressive suspension technology where it's normally available in brands such as KW/Bilstein that AT LEAST cost twice the price (>RM6k) if not much more.

Got someone complain Tomen remapped got alot of knocking .
*

ok before i reply this let me just say some things to clairfy ya..

1. i dont join any clubs...
2. i dont know who this otoman or watever his name is.. never met him, dont think i ever will
3. i have no beef with anyone so my comments here are totally unbiased.
4. sorry if it takes me forever to reply stuff.. im not always around...

so anyway, when i got my car, i felt the acceleration is rather linear as compared to the old school mivecs.
i thought it was just me so i didnt really care.

having contacts who are mechs and tuners, i brought my car for a diagnostics run to see whats going on... when the guy drove it, it was apparent it wasnt normal. so, we plugged in his gizmos and started testing it out.

now, the day we tested it was perfect... we had hot weather, then it rained then it got humid.

hot weather, the knock sensor detected quite a high number of knocks from the low to medium rev ranges.

rain - minimal knocks

humid, knocks started to come back until the weather heated up and the knocks got worse again.

also, from what my mechanic was looking at, he said the map was obviously from a 2 liter car (mine is 1.8) i cant remember if it was a lancer map or an inspira map.

so in regards to the comment "some ppl says its ok" i would assume it is because they are driving a 2.0

QUOTE(Poadster @ Mar 21 2014, 01:26 AM)
If the tray is specifically designed to reduce drag (wind resistance la).... then yes....

user posted image

But if its a generic undertray.... it could even add more drag if the air is not properly channeled... no??
*
i agree...
i like the duct tape on it tho.. haha cool

if you ask me... if ppl advertise it as a skid pan then it would be more feasible. but to say it reduces drag, not unless the entire bottom is covered as once it passes that area the rest of your crap will create turbulence.

i also agree on the heat part.. as the exhaust is now facing inwards, closing up the bottom of your engine bay is not a good idea. im already trying to think of a way to channel cold air into that area to cool down the pipes as i have no heat shield..

usually you would commonly see these under tray stuff on rally cars... but that is a totally different use for it. that is meant to ensure no sh!ite gets into the car as its rolling around the mud and gravel causing more damage.

another type of drag this thing would cause would be how much of a drag it would be for the mechanic when you wanna change your engine oil... it will probably cost you more to change your engine oil, do fixes or change your exhaust system or o2 sensor in the future...

if i see my bud this weekend, i'll try to take a pic of his evo 10s underside... see if its installed stock..

oh btw.. never introduced myself... im Vyraz! Hi!

lol i got like 50+ tabs at home
so can easily camp a few sites laugh.gif

and nah didn't manage to run... working from 00:00 until 10:25 and still working as i post.

personally i'm also interested in the underside cover... but then again with how much heat the car generates and the stock air ducts/covers etc to me are satisfactory, i guess i'll save the money (i'm really struggling of late anyways thanks to the lack of expected minimal 1 month bonus doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif )

aiya lemme figure out a diy air ducting for flowing air in or extracting air from the extractor area first la... busy lately... and this sunday cannot diy.. wife sez 3 weeks d i have been tinkering with the car...

not worried coz its totally legal. i used to work with the united nations which puts me in the category of "international civil servant". but in malaysia they dont have such a category so i was always shown as "menganggur" and was exempted from tax and kwsp contribution. the down side about this is that i could never take any loans, i could not buy vehicles, i could not take housing loans and cant even get credit cards. all my transactions had to be cash. and had to pay ALOT of cash to get a housing loan...
