QUOTE(tychong @ Mar 1 2014, 05:38 PM) [attachmentid=3873842] dei, it's 2014 already la. you see most (if not all) car makers even proton also practicing 10k km OCIJust changed engine oil at 4.5k mileage. So dark. Wonder how to last 10k mileage. Foreman forgot that we put 4.5litre for our engine and used oil overflow from the 'tong'. take a look at this: http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/moto.../?code=ASMQT-EA if the product doesn't hold at least some truth to it, the company would be facing lawsuits here and there until bankruptcy. QUOTE SERVICE LIFE AMSOIL Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil is recommended for extended drain intervals in unmodified(1), mechanically sound(2) gasoline-fueled vehicles as follows: Normal Service(3) – Up to 25,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. Severe Service(4) – Up to 15,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. In all non-gasoline-fueled vehicle applications, extend the oil change interval according to oil analysis or follow the OEM* drain interval. miles ya, 25 f***ing k. obviously i won't be going 25k miles, i'll stick with 10k km as per proton warranty. but you pretty much get the idea |

QUOTE(tychong @ Mar 2 2014, 09:32 AM) Mat salleh place is cold and our weather so hot. My car stuck in the jam 2 hours daily during working days. 2 hours x 3 months which about 4.5 mileages. Is about 132 hours in 3 months. Although is 4.5k mileage plus 132 hours slow moving time. I think actual mileage is not 4.5k anymore. "severe usage" also they quote 10k miles. How severe is your jam and got weather Le? Again, miles, not km. |

QUOTE(tychong @ Mar 2 2014, 06:02 PM) Yes. Just noticed it is miles. Haha. 25k miles, a bit too much. If u plan to change car within 3-5 years then ur car should be still working until you get a new car. I wish I can do that if the car as cheap as US I'm using that on my first 1k km service lol... Going to change on 10k km usual lo... 7k km more Its not really about how/when you plan to change car, the fact the engine oil advancements have come a long way and able to withstand longer oci (of course adjust accordingly to manufacturer) cannot be ignored. All this is also due to environmental concerns. |

QUOTE(bluecar @ Mar 3 2014, 11:13 PM) I was reading a thread in ICE and came across this. To be frank, If I wanted an auto I'd still stick to those choices. We can conclude that Inspira is equivalent or better than Civic? Few years down the road from that post, I got addicted to motor sports and the kancil manual was the last straw that pushed me over the edge that I MUST get a manual car Ps: thanks for bringing me to a trip down memory lane. It made me proud that I kept my word of buying a new car within 3 years I got my inspira on December 2013 |

QUOTE(K3nnYkl82 @ Mar 3 2014, 11:27 PM) I'm always vocal about my passion and I believe everyone that have been to the first few inspira tt I've stared joining (iinm I never got to see you until few tt after) I've mentioned numerous times that if I were to stick to auto I'd get a civic or focus (because everyone thinks manual ain't for me, which I don't blame them since I've only driven auto all my life In fact during that time I also mentioned the savings you can get if you went for an inspira (and boy did I saved lol) |

QUOTE(eugenetwh @ Mar 3 2014, 11:31 PM) To summarize : shit. But eh I spent around 5k+ on the iswara, while inspira is free. And the mivec engine sings to me, so I'm not too bothered about it for the time being. Can't complaint for "free " ICE ma On a more objective comparison, the inspira does have better overall nvh (new car vs 1999 car that's been to track days), and at least I don't get door panel rattling or rear wood panel rattling (I'm considering of throwing it away rofl) I mean yeah passenger side panel rattle despite spent around 300+ (per door) on stp gold soundproofing. After opening up the panel, I found out the wooden panel that holds the speaker has corroded from age /weather (the weatherproof strip was gone lol) and the speaker is lacking half a side in support Now back to the inspira, if you want some basic improvement, I think a pair of tweeters, cheap China 2ch amp and a subwoofer can go a long way in your basic ICE improvement. You probably won't even need soundproof as the stock mid and cheap woofer won't rattle your car beyond what the stock soundproofing /insulation can handle. The 3 items would probably set you back 500 to 1000 or even much less depending on what you're getting (can also consider used |

hmm the Proton Inspira stock brakes, they are decent for daily driving, however once you really start pushing them... it's just not enough ^^;
Just experienced minor brake fading (which it was able to recover, however the brakes were really numb after that) on the car after a spirited drive to work at TPM it just made me realized that the car is so much heavier (while being a lot faster) than the iswara... of course the brakes would be stressed i inspected the front wheels once i reach my work place, there's still some smoke from the pads and it smells DAMN AWFUL lol on average it used to take 20-25 minutes to travel from my place to TPM, now it is taking between 15-20 minutes. it's also interesting that i actually find the new car being more tail happy than the hatchback iswara; my only guess is due to the much faster cornering speeds while having a damn heavy chassis provided too much cornering g-force/momentum into the corner having the rear screeching so loudly while i have the rear swung out with the ASC does show up once a while; oddly it doesn't happen on every tire screech/corners which proves that the system is not intrusive at all in putting a full stop on you having a fun time it's a real pity that i did not brought the infrared digital thermometer to measure how hot the brakes were cooking. Would be nice to know what's the fading temperature of these Japan made Akebono's |
