What about a regular personal blog, would it be able to generate a steady flow of income?

I probably browse them once a year when friend shared something that caught my interest in Fb.

Not sure what is interesting about cars in general.

If you can get traffic = people will advertise on your site/blog = money.

It's not easy, there's tonnes of things you must cover and keep interesting for your readers.

website - anything that you browse on the Internet that runs with HTML at the background.

do you think lowyat.net is a blog? I don't think paultan is considered a blog now, neither do I think lowyat.net is. even my goldfries.com doesn't feel like a blog already.

all are actually online publication. I just haven't change my tagline.

Yup, I agree with you on that.

When we start it at a personal level = blog

When it grows into a multi-author team = online publication

We should just wait for goldfries interview in the papers to know that brows.gif

Actually getting interviewed by journalist is a good way to drive traffic from offline.

You just need to make sure they spell the url correctly. Most of the time when I try to open a complicated url, it goes to nowhere. doh.gif

Make your domain short like goldfries, easy to spell and remember.

A personal blog can also generate income. Those days, all blog owners jump to other blogs to visit and vise versa. Now in a different era, it is better to have something which users would search for instead of ahhh... i ate breakfast this morning (bla bla)

Blog

Content is regularly updated.
Not formal.
Interactive.
Informative and educational.
Interactivity about industry/customer issues.
Some people have a blog.

Website

Content is static.
Formal/professional.
Interactivity does not exist. There is only one-way communication.
Transactional.
Communication about products and/or services.
Almost everyone has a website. In fact, it is almost a requirement in business today.

Paultan is actually like top gear Malaysia, web site version. The key of making money through blogging is still quality content. But do you guys realize that those city girls blog are making money from product sponsors as well? Nowadays their blog is either full of sponsored content or make up product reviews. Hmmmmmmm.

That is an advantage for beautiful girls. Even a ranting topic also can get so many traffics. More traffic, more money. brows.gif

True true. +1, this only happens in South East Asia, do you realise that? I don't really see ANG MO's blog with this kind of sponsored reviews.
