Got how much budget ??? If you don't want to modify to HID, you can try Phillips Xtreme Vision. Normal halogen bulb but much brighter. No need modifications. Plug and play.

AFAIK, 2005 Camry is reflector headlamp. In physics term, it reflects the light rather than focusing the light.

If you want to change to HID, it is definitely not safe coz it needs a projector unit. HID is memang glaring, its full form is High Intensity Discharge. By the name of it you should know it have high visible light discharge.

Stick to halogen light is good enough for daily use, except you travel alot alot during the night + offroad. Make sure you adjust your headlamp level suitably.

Get the 2.4v projector lamps.

Just change to better halogen bulbs like Phillips Xtreme Vision or Osram Night Breaker Plus, should be more than enough. Unless you want bright white light HID look which is difficult achieve with normal bulbs as they need to be slightly yellow like std bulb in order to give maximum brightness. You can also opt to change to whiter 4000-4500k bulbs (Phillips Crystal Vision, Osram Cool Blue Intense, PIAA Northern Light) but it would not be able to shine the roads as clear as Xtreme Vision or the like, but it may still be a bit brighter than std bulbs. The whiter ones would look nicer though.

PIAA is rather expensive at >rm200, but the others you should be able to get around rm100-150 with Osram slightly cheaper than Phillips. There are a few selling in the LYN Garage forum too.

I'm using PIAA Northern Light which is 4400k and still legal. Crystal Vision is 4300k while Cool Blue Intense is only 4200k so they're also still legal.

That one I don't know coz I don't own a Camry, you need to check yourself first, or just ask the sellers as they should know.
