nice one there.....just need to look at the mod with the lights on....

in any fan controller mods, the most important is the knob and i think you've chosen the right ones..

btw, it can handle 1A per channel

You can cut hole using a hole saw attachment for your drill.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@hollowbean
1A output...I guess you are using LM317. This should not be enough for those using high CFM Deltas that sucks 3A icon_idea.gif smile.gif

BTW, where did you buy that 3 pin connector. Got at Jln Pasar ???

I can see that you are using variable resistors and capacitors. Tell me, are you setting them up in series for each fan? What are the ratings of the variable resistor and capacitors?

After this has been completed I bet the next one you would making is a PWM fan controller right? tongue.gif

i think 1A should be enough to handle normal usage users. not everyone can tahan the noise of high CFM deltas. laugh.gif

3 pin connector i think it can be found at jalan pasar, but not sure. i got those from old motherboards.

AFAIK, LM 317 can give out max of 1.5A

LM 350 = 3A

LM 338 = 5A

So far I'd only find LM 317 & LM 338

And Shah, that 3pin connector should be available @ most electronic shops. So are the nice knobs. If cant get, then I can help u smile.gif

Very, very nice mod but it's only practical for those already using a Lian Li. Coz if u buy the aluminum ROM cover itself is already rm20-30. Then another rm20-30 for the electronics it'll b about rm60 for the mod. For rm60 u can buy a ready made fan controller d. But this is an excellent mod for all Lian Li owners coz they dont need to buy the alu cover.

Yeah sure you can. Any ROM cover should do it....either aluminium or plastic. You just need some creativity to make it work. I dont see why this mod is only practical for Lian Li owner.

Doesnt necessarily need be silver. Black & silver even nicer match for me

Or if the cover is white, can use black. Functionality is more important after all, rite? tongue.gif

No lar. What I meant was that everybody was loving how it looked. The only reason it looks so nice on hollowbean's mod is coz it's using aluminum ROM cover n aluminum knobs mar. So what I meant was that, for it to look as good it's only practical for Lian Li owners. Otherwise, if u like the alu look then it's better to just buy a ready made alu fan controller. Sry for the confusion. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

oho, thx 4 straighten things up.. i tot itz not advisable to use the plastic plates compared to those alu plates.... since itz a DIY kinda thingy, anything goes ryt? well, i'm aware dat the plastic ones wudn't look as MACHO as the alus... i'll try to slave my plastic ones later on then.. notworthy.gif

guys. you all can actually buy those alu plates from ATE its abour RM5/piece, i bougth once b4.sometimes they got extra plates took off from new installation, try drop off there and ask them. RM5+RM20 still a good deal for a cheapskate fan controller. ^^

Wah so cheap 1? On the ATE price list, they list the covers at rm18! If really rm5 then it's damn worth it.

Making a fan switch on a plastic bay should be easy enuf as long as you got the right tools. Have to be a even drill among all holes.

i think it won't fit cause Lian Li's 5" bay cover is different from other casing, their attachments method is different tongue.gif unless u the kind who like DIY, can make ur own holes on em biggrin.gif
