It is possible, since next year commercial rental will be imposed 6% gst. Abolishing witholding tax to avoid double tax.

GST in Singapore

The Investors
32. An investor is entitled to receive income distributions from the REITs invested. The income distribution in the form of dividend is not subject to GST. When the REIT units are traded in Bursa Malaysia, the buying and selling of REIT units is also an exempt supply and is not subject to GST. However, any brokerage commission or clearing fee on the buying and selling of the REITs is subject to GST at a standard rate. The investor is not entitled to claim the GST incurred on the buying and selling of the REITs since it is an exempt supply.

Income distribution as dividend is exempted from gst. But the tenants' rental to CMMT is, will CMMT absorb the gst or surcharge it from the tenants ?

If CMMT absorbs the gst, meaning dividend distributed already deducted the gst. So is lesser. Correct me if I am wrong.

Sungai Wang only contributes 26% profit to CMMT, the deteriorating condition is filled by the growth of other malls.

Everybody knows buy low sell high, but any one actually practicing it ? I guess this moment is the worst period for CMMT, since the Sungai Wang matter already exposed and people who wanted to sell already disposed or at least not accumulating. And the MRT is progressing towards completion.

Not to mention all other bad news like RM depreciating, oil retreating and bla bla bla. Doesn't it look like too late if to sell now ?

I think CMMT always has plan to fully acquire Sg Wang Mall, they might purposely and strategically "persuading" other shop owners to sell to CMMT.

My personal opinion is, CMMT worst is now. The next direction is only improvement.

I think all business is not spared from stiff competition. That is why, I find management is very important.

Good management will always find a way out. I have faith for CMMT's.
