For me,
the primary intention to invest in reit, is for passive income, aka already has intention to hold on long term and looking on its yield.

I treat reit more like bond instead equities. 

i got urge to take out FD to buy reits liao. long time didnt see so attractive price. lol.

May I know why you say I won't get the dividend if I buy before ex-date?  Almost everyone replied said can get dividend, my interpretation is also same. 

I am not just aftering the dividend per se, just to make sure if I buy now I get the dividend to cover for the drop in share price after ex-date.  I don't want to buy end up NO dividend then suffer price drop pulak.  Really jialat like that...That's the reason...but I was confused and wasn't too sure..

If look at short term, no good point, as if reit give 5 cents it will deduct opening share price 5 cents as well.

But if look at long term, different story.

For eg reit price RM0.80, after give 5 cents, opening price next day 0.75.

Next year give 5 cents, become 0.70,
after 10 years, can it become 0.30, while still giving 5 cents consistently? It is big bargain if the price can go to 0.30 while still giving consistent 5 cents.

So share price being deducted out due to dividend is good to have, it makes the yield higher on next cycle if share price doesn't move up from the ex-price, normally it does move back up, due to yield attractiveness.

u also notice..now rm1.30 , but mine the listing is rm1.37
..waiting for Euro QE ..see got effect or not.

I also plan to sell above rm1.37 when the yield range 4%
