Guys, usually how many bottles of paint do you use for an MG? I found myself using 4 clear reds for my Sinanju and others for metallics and inner frames... The guy at the shop told me, actually for an MG; I only require one bottle of clear red?

Hey guys Here's a WIP of my RX-78 3.0. Been building gunpla for sometime jor but never attempt to weather or painted it. For this project i painted the exhaust with chrome paint and give it a weathering. It's my first time and open up for advice i wanna learn more. Still got weapon and the core fighter to settle and gonna paint my backpack. Here's the picture give me some feed back please. Btw i just ran out of top coat hence i could't finish the weapons and the backpack.  biggrin.gif  user posted imageuser posted imageuser posted imageuser posted image

My 2 cents. Perhaps some paint chips effect would make it more realistic. What I usually do is use a silver type paint or marker and dab it on the edges

Can anybody explain to me what is 'g-system'? Where is it made? and is it licensed by Bandai? I know they make some different versions of the kits available or even unavailable ones...

G System: one of many 3rd party resin kit maker

made in: hong kong

licensed by Bandai: no, the only resin maker authorize by Bandai is B-Club (they r a Bandai's subsidiary so thats a given)

price: extremely expensive since its not mass produce in the same scale as Bandai.

packaging: each parts come in its own plastic bag, there is no runners since each parts is individually casted

quality: great for a resin kit but cant compare with Bandai. Expect flashes, warping, imperfection etc all common problems associated with resin, the only thing is it has less problem then most other resin maker.

Ah ok thanks for the answers. I tried googling, but information about them still pretty vague. And yes, very expensive.

You really dig deep into RG huh laugh.gif One thing I don't like about RG is my fingers will hurt after each build doh.gif

Actually, I don't dig RG. So far all my kits are MGs, wanted to get exclusive and limited stuffs. Hence the RGs and HGs. Some of them were free actually.

Hi guys,

Do you have any recommendations on where to shop for Gundam in Hong Kong? I heard that Mongkok is a MUST visit place for me. Going there during summer sales.

My wife allowed me to buy only 1 PG (my first PG), and i cannot decide which one to buy:-
1) Strike Freedom Gundam (since i MG burst mode, thinking of getting the PG)
2) ASTRAY RED FRAME (love the sword!)
3) 00 Raiser (heard that demand is GOOD, and looks nice!!!)
4) Aile Strike Rouge & Skygrasper (looks like a lot to build and my wife likes it)
5) Gundam Wing (looks really challenging!!!)

So, guys, whats your recommendation of my first PG should be?
*
Are you sure you want to buy a PG in HK? I was just back from there. Price wise, not so big difference and the box is huge. So, you may not be able to bring it in the plane as hand luggage. and you don't wanna check it in. I guess you could throw the box, and cramp the runners in the hand luggage bag. I wanted to get the GPO1 there, but it was between 1300 to 1600 HKD. So I decided against it. After conversion is like 600 to 800...not much difference.
Anyways, for Gundam shops...best is along Nathan Road...closer to Jordan's MTR station. checkout In's Point and Sino Centre. Also near the Kwong Wah hospital near the station also...many shops there. Paints like Gaia Notes is going for HKD22.00, about RM9.00.
Go there to buy rare stuffs, not easily available here. My opinion, don't buy stuffs there just because it's RM50 cheaper.
I got the 7 eleven zgok HG at around RM80.00, Time machine in Times square sells it at RM200.00.

iinm MG phenex can claim 2 tix while HG banshee norn will get 1..

Ya, I bought the phenex so I got the tickets. Don't know if it's just one screening or there will be a few shows that you can buy normal tickets. Since they are screening it, it only makes sense they have a few shows.

Some details on the movie (7th episode). I wish Hollywood would make a Gundam movie like transformers. I think it'll be a hit and imagine all the revenue they will get from the merchandises..
