So we're talking about first model kits.
Mine was not gundam. It was the robot from flashman in 1991. Cost only 1 ringgit. Found it in a sundry shop.
It was all blue plastic but it could still combine and transform.
My first gundam was in 1995, the NG gundam wing zero.

For noobies, I recommend getting any HG kits after 2008.
*
I remember that robo, you could actually recreate the gattai scene as seen on TV laugh.gif

Anybody built their RM60.00 Titus yet? Did a simple metallic red paint

First impression on below stuff, it's awesome! I won't hesitate to get Faiz Figurise biggrin.gif Oh wait, are these considered 'mecha'? hmm.gif

Completed the build, but can already see that some touch ups need to be done, particularly on the silver steel part, the nubs are quite noticeable. Don't worry much about the metallic red nubs, just a dab of red sharpie and it won't be noticeable laugh.gif Tomorrow phase, stickers and paint touch ups!

yup... the nub line are visible laugh.gif plus i using cutter from mr diy haha
*
Err cutter shouldn't affect the nub marks unless you cut it really close (which you shouldn't). Knife on the other hand, is important.

okey noted~! will take on the MG!  rclxms.gif and which gunpla are recommended? MG MS-09RS Char's can? dunno got stock or not i like the original purple one
*
Definitely MG Jesta biggrin.gif It's cheap, awesome looking, non-complex build, fully articulated hands (which for Jesta's weaponry, works sufficiently fine), and provision for LED smile.gif

The easier and quickest way to paint a gundam for a beginner is??? Feel like wanna paint my arios hg into black stealth arios biggrin.gif
*
For a simple color swapping scheme, spray paint is more than enough. Note that acrylic-based should give you better quality.

FG6 - Masked Rider Kabuto - Rider Form

Finally painted this little bugger (no pun intended) biggrin.gif

What I did to mine:

1. Paint the silver part with Silver Sharpie marker. I find it works well to cover the nub marks.
2. Use Black Sharpie to paint the black part on Masked Form and to rectify mistakes if you accidentally spilled the silver paint area (No.1).
3. A dot of Silver Sharpie on the metallic red nub marks, wait for it to dry, and use Red Sharpie to cover it. Blends well.
4. Mr. Hobby Semi Gloss top coat.
5. Decals only on the Kabuto Zecter and the shoe soles.

I think I like this kit so much due to the easiness of painting the necessary parts, where for Gundams, due to its robotic design and less curvy area, AB is a better way to do it.
Needless to say, I'm not fond of the Masked Form very much biggrin.gif

Why the green parts are already in semi transparent green, but still need stickers?
*
Normally it's the foil sticker to be added behind the transparent part, silver/chrome makes the light reflects better biggrin.gif

QUOTE(nazrul90 @ Apr 14 2014, 02:11 AM)
articulation still sucks
you need to mod the joints a bit to be like SHF articulation
*
Well given that it is an 'HG', it can't match the SHF articulation which is being sold at least double the price. But for an 'HG' kit, the articulation is good enough that it is able to do the character trademark poses, and more biggrin.gif

Whew.. blades aside.. build looks good and i think it woukd be fun to build.. as per RGs standard

I bet it will be a miniature MG, but at least without huge backpack it will be really poseable like the granddaddy, Zaku and Mkii.

i just got myself a very late birthday present, a RG Justice Gundam, good purchase...

My question is, I dont have the proper tools to begin assembly as yet, as i see a lot of people have a lot of cutter, knifes, etc... and I still have BB1M, if i go to popular bookstore, can I get the tools needed to at least begin assembly?

what i see is cutter, modelling knife, cutting mat and markers are the basic tools to have, is my budget RM100 can fit? or must spend a lot more? what more tools do i need?
*
Go to Mr.DIY to get a cutter (RM 3-4), cutting mat (RM 8-10) and a tweezer (RM 2-3). If you're lucky you may find modelling knife or hobby knife there, shouldn't cost more than 10, but proper modelling knife is advised. Then get a black panel line marker for RM10-12.

u guy think is possible for bandai to do mg for the below HGBF kit.

- HGBF Exia Amazing
- HGBF Wing Fenice Rinascita
*
They are always technically capable of producing those considering those models are just modified units of the originals one which they have in MG line.

Smelling P-Bandai even if they decide to produce them.

how do you remember the part number while assembly, by shape?
*
Actually, after you have built so many kits, you can already know pretty much about which piece goes where. Larger symmetrical pieces will be for the legs, smaller ones will be for arms, etc etc. And these pieces usually can only be snap fitted correctly in only one way.

guys, im building my very first MG rx78-2 ver 3.0

i found it quite loose for most of the parts compare to HG and RG..
is it normal?
*
It is a sturdy kit, what you felt might be due to the cramped components that make up the frame mechanism. It's design makes it one of the best kits in balance ever laugh.gif

unless they decide to split the plate in half, Sinanju shares weapon parts with the other grey parts so he might get his rifle, beam axes and shield
unless they rework the plate to include the bazooka instead, but for such a price, i think it's unreasonable to remove a few parts that would otherwise have made little difference
*
If I were Bandai, I would just give all the accessories in its original mold laugh.gif

However, seeing this kit up until this point, I'm absolutely having no interest in it. Maybe they did a mistake by announcing it much earlier than the release of Episode 7 where we will see what the Neo Zeong is all about.

guys im new into this gunpla painting.. just need some advice, before paint the priming is important right ? normally how u guys priming the part? straight from spru ? or prime after assembly ?
*
Most will cut them from the runners, clean and trim the nubs.

Whether you need to prime, it depends on the colors and types of paints. Acrylic paints work best (to me). I will only prime if I want to paint light colors on dark pieces, but not vice versa.
