Hmm... I don't know much about photo frankly speaking.
But I cant feel any special in the few bridge picture.. Untill the bamboo and lotus pictures... but somehow I still feel there's a lot of spaces to improve  words from an noob...  |

pics of tsukiji fish market, tokyo. It's the world's largest fish market in terms of size and the amount of fish it brings in each day. i went there a bit late so couldnt get to see them auctioning off the fish..

my climb up to mount fuji.. not too hard but the weather was pretty harsh n i din bring enough clothes!!
1.5th station.. where people normally start their hike  2.the peak .. not exactly photo quality like winter when its covered in snow  3.sun goin up  4.late comers  5.sunrise pics  6.more sunrising  7.and more still  8.people overlooking the rising sun  9.it's up!!!  |

Ginkaku Ji in kyoto. means silver pavillion but nothing silvery here.. the golden pavillion is another story though

from kyoto to osaka!
1.umeda sky tower, one of the coolest building i've seen to date. glass elevator to the 70th floor i think. and an escalator that goes 5 floor ups!  2.stairway to heaven(escalator if u like it:P)  3.the Escalator  4.view of osaka  5.in line with the high tech building it has a small garden with an reversed waterfall! funny if u ask me:P  |

thx for sharing the photo, i'd suggest to compose yr pictures thematically, and if possible, some PS/color adjust/cropping to make the pictures more presentable. some idea, not necessary to squeeze every single object into the scene, leave some space for imagination, japan is a very colorful country, i'd like to see more life style images. my 2 cents. my pics during the d80 live event.
model shots while i was queuing up.. 1.  2.  3.  4.  5.the mc of the day  6.the printer girl.. after each shooting session u can print out one 4r size pic foc.  7.  8.the girl at the nikon vs canon vs sony block.nikon was comparing the magnification of the viewfinders with the alpha and 350d(though they clearly just said company A&B). should have compared it wih the 400d though but i guess nikon themselves don't have it yet:P  9.my fav. promoter. she was taking care of the tele lenses.. the 400mm lenses were almost just as beautiful as her. they even had microscopic cams on show.  10.  |

the bridge photo's looked very distant.i think u should zoom nearer.extra contrast will be better.the photo's of the japanese gatden arent' sharp enough in terms of colours and contrast.

Seems that u use nikon cam....the saturation is not that good, the macro for plant also....it would be splendid to capture those picture with panasonic TZ1 with 10x optical zoom...and good close up macro...

i did this kind of shot before of the Sydney opera house. When just shoot the photo of the Opera house, I can see the details, when I shoot with people in the photo the Opera house was overexposed, a little cut and paste helped turn out the perfect photo.

u can take it without the filter but it'll limit the max shutter speed. if u wanna put a guy there, he must be damn still la at a long exposure. |

some pics from my field trip to idemitsu petroleum plant and nagoya's central int. airport. not much at idemitsu but the airport had an open viewing deck, i.e watching planes from an open space and more importantly without glass! good place for photography .. very good if u have a 400mm

No. 7.reflection?..is an interesting pix. It's a pity the pictures on the autumn leaves are a little dark. Had the same problem with those I took in Sichuan. |

day 2 of my trip.. miraculously, i woke up at 530 am.. caught the sunrise from my hostel's roof
11. kyoto sunrise  then i made my way to toufukuji（東福寺）, famous for its autumn foliage.. as i said, leave viewing season is not in full swing yet but what i saw that day was almost astounding. arrived there at about 7.40, an hour earlier from opening time but already i saw photogrpahers there, shooting from outside the temple. i've heard how big the crowd would be during this time but nothing anyone said prepared me for what i saw. a queue to go view 'leaves'! a 100 person strong line excluding those coming in tourist groups. talking about photographers, i saw so many that day, girls with slrs, girls with slrs n tripods, girls with video cams, girls with video cams n tripod.. if i saw a girl with medium format cams, it would have made my day. there were so many slr users there, from contax to d80 to whatever u name it.. a guy was using a medium format which i think was a mamiya.. so on with pics.. 12.toufukuji  13.toufukuji in red  14.a small stream  15.red yellow  16.red leaves  17.maple red  18.broken maple  19.forgotten leaves  20.shooting spree  |

my next stop was kiyomizu tera,nominated as one of the new 7 wonders of the world. personally.. i don see whats so nice about this temple.. alot of other places i've been here beat this place hands down. bunch of frens joined me here so shooting time was reduced alot
26.kiyomizu tera  27.queuing up. next too kiyomizu was koudai ji, which opened until night and lit up their trees to make it all cooler but the line was my highlight..a new shock for me..if u can see the white building on the far left,thats where the queue reached. inside it was like walking without freedom as there was too much people. no pics here as no tripods allowed  day 3(final) could only manage to go kinkaku ji(Golden Pavillion) 28.the crowd  29.cam whores(my friends ) 30.blood red  31.bleeding  32.on fire  |

try to shoot with shutter priority, don't care about the blinking indicatordon't worry about the aperture too, it'll open up to the max of the zoom range. adjust to about +1ev, then shoot. See if it will return the same result.

everytime that happens to me, and if I know that the photo has been focused properly, I just switch the lens to MF and shoot. In MF the shutter will release even if the photo is not focused.

maybe it's already the maximum shutter it can go? i get a LOW reading when it's too underexposed or HIGH when too overexposed. |

my ski trip with other foreigners from 24 dec to 26 dec.
day 1.. no skiing but sightseeing around takayama. it's a small city up around in the mountains famous for it's takayama festival held during spring n autumn. it's so popular that the city decided to build a whole museum for it. 1.the bus.. not canggih at all, just a normal 4 seater(expandable to 5) coach.  2.takayama festival museum's deco  3.mroe deco.  4.and more  5. and a nbtd shot  6.and back to decos  7.and decos  8.insect museum beside it with it's cool collection of dead butterflies   snow pics will be up on day 2 n day 3 stay tuned. |

i went to my frens host family`s place for a thing called mochitsuki. its a type of kuih.. something like glutinous flour but with rice.. was pretty fun seeing and helping them make it.
1.mashing up the rice  2.pounding it till it becomes sticky  3.breaking it up  4.molding it. its filled with red bean paste making it pretty sweet too  5.end result  6.kids playing a game  7.happy tht she got it right  8.another `kid` playing  9.a cute baby of few months  |

2 japanese friends and i took a 6 hour train to go to the beach! before heading back that same very day

tested my new tokina 828, not actually new but 2nd hand.. initial impressions are good. quite sharp. autofocus is well.. definitely not an AF-S but livable. one thing i don like is the screw-in hood... just too troublesome!
some test shots around my campus     hopefully can test it on football this sunday, if i have the time. wanna see whether it's fast enough for sports.. |

The 'going to the beach' series is verry nice.
The overcast winter sky at your campus pix makes me feel depressed. Same gundam model as yr fren"s ?..the one on the left. ( No close-up lens/filter, no light-tent.)  |
