I believe Astro GO is HD but very low bitrate.

Astro GO on demand wise is a better bitrate HD.

this beta, i have tried on several devices.

.. works as it is for himedia Q10pro, tanix tx3mini, tanix tx5max.
.. there is a slight audio delay - audio lags video.
.. display is more complete than the current one.
.. navigation is much the same, need mouse to drag-move sideways.
.. does not work well with androidtv 8.0 (ATV) - video jerks.

still beta, will see if final version will be better.
it is obvious to me astro has no plans to cater to astrogo to be watched on TV - same navigation issues, unapproved for ATV.

meanwhile, better use current v8.2.6 which is smoother.
good news is i think it will work on any unrooted box, less fussy, no need modified versions.
