VOD used to be pretty easy... several great apps, easy to get... all in HD.

now, some got shut down, some went legit, some still let u watch a bit for free only.

the ones i know of.. newer shows are blocked... they tease u with 1-2 episodes.

older shows, ok.

still, u can try... if u haven't.. cibn, moretv, qianxun - try to find them at shafa.com

also can try this icdrama rss... works fine but rather limited stuff.

terr 1.8.3 can be adfree and not adfree, depends where u get it.

there was an app called apk time in streamachine that will get u the adfree version.

try to get this apk time apk to find that terr 1.8.3 adfree there.

great UI, simple, easy to navigate... i think it has good potential.

providers are limited and some don't work at all.

VOD, no live tv.

it works fairly well for smaller, lower grade videos like 720p, aac2.0.

it does not work well, buffers a lot, with bigger videos - expected.

subs work ok; audio even when it should be dtshdma, is just aac2.0 - expected.

it works on bit torrent... like kodi quasar but is not as good.

can get the app on playstore.

icdrama rss has been available for some months now.

very reliable, no need maintenance and has more HD links to choose from.

becos it is maintained by icdrama owner.


kodi.. icdrama addon or rss is not as reliable becos icdrama does not do it in kodi.

what u get there is done by other individuals who may not maintain well and fast enough.

becos, like many apps, it is built for touchscreen... handphone, tablets.

need use mouse to navigate.

Beats messing around with kodi.acestreams, right?

Redbox and livenettv are like twins, can choose according to stream stability.

480/576 streams are easy; 720/1080 ones a bit challenging if watching for hours.

Improvement can be seen using diff players, diff player options, even vpn's.

I tried them on several devices... they work best on androidtv, app probably optimized for it.


Now, there is hope for world cup moscow in june!

big test tmrw 11pm... EPL matches.

maybe a bit too early to say... but if it pass my test, there is yet hope for a great worldcup 2018 moscow in june!

yep, pretty acceptable on livenettv.

last night.. one match... let it play full match, all good in hd.

now, bournemouth-arsenal... hd not smooth, fall back to 576, ok.

i dun really watch EPL. just testing the various live sports.

so far, live cricket, rugby, tennis... hd is easy; live soccer hd a little tricky... gotta try several sources.

i had worse luck with acestreams, gave up.... gets broken all the time.

I was very frustrated during world cup 2014.

Forced to fall back to astrogo which is sd.

Was quite successful l during euro cup 2016, get hd most of the time.

World cup 2018... i am confident will find good hd streams in the end!

When yr fiber is up, try livenettv.

what player (i mean the app) r u using... for livenettv.. and redbox?

mx... try bring up the menu, change from hw to hw+ decoder - works better.

livenettv and redbox both allow choice of many players.

try xmtv and couple others.

appears to me some sources work better with certain players/decoders and not so with others.

these are all m3u sources, updated very frequently.

i also think some sources are in uhd with dolby digital - will try harder, see if i can get them!


but really... whether this or that... acestream or cypher or mic or reddit or redbox...

as long as u get the quality and reliabilty u accept, it's good.

the great news is there are plenty of choices!

not totally out of topic since there isn't a similar thread for other languages.

i think TS will not mind chinese, korean, indian, french, etc...!

.. vod mandarin - try moretv and cibn - almost all stuff in hd.
find them in shafa.com (u need to know how to read chinese).
these apps offer some free, some partially free, some restricted to paying VIPs.

.. livetv mandarin - try tvplus2.0 and cloudtv.
google, u will find them.

.. canto/eng sub.. chinese, japanese, korean, taiwanese - icdrama rss player is best but limited library.

Not that i saw.

The diff lies in yr device.

Mx or mx pro, newer devices can do hw+ while older ones can do only hw.

if u hv a decent device and the speed, u will get what i get!

generally, vod incl hd is easier to get, live tv in HD harder.
popular live sports is even harder; reliable popular live sports in HD hardest.

the stuff u get at shafa is usually smooth and reliable... i been using some of them for a few years now.

terrarium is one of the better ones; freeflix is quite alright; best is kodi quasar - once u get this right, u will not want any other vod eng.

livenettv not good 4 u... hmm... i can only speculate yr box is disadvantaged by wifi, w/o ethernet which always work better.
another possibility is yr box is androidtv - some apps not optimized for it, works better with generic android.
lastly, u can try other player/decoders besides box native or mx player.
i get some very good stuff in this app, incl quite a bit in hd most of the time.

redbox... all round not as good as livenettv, imo.

we share in terms of devices, apps and network related.
but we should stay away from talking illegit ahem paid iptv or mentioning specific providers/channels to avoid copyright issues.
