How do blackheads form?

1. Hormones cause excess oil
2. Excess oil clogs the pores
3. The clogged oil mixed with dead skin cells
4. These two exposed to air, oxidizes and turns black

What to do to get rid of blackheads?
1. Restore normal oil production by improving pore linings
2. Remove dead surface skin
3. Reduce and absorb excess oil

What to use to get rid of blackheads?
1. Use gentle, water-soluble cleansers. Absolutely no irritating ingredients eg alcohol, menthol
2. Use gel or light liquid moisturizer as creams can clog pores. No irritating ingredients in your moisturizer eg lime, fragrance
3. Use a good salicylic acid (BHA) daily.
4. Absorb excess oil with blotting papers and clay mask.

What not to do?
Don't use scrubs such as its usually too abrasive and it will damage the skin barrier.
Don't use pore strips as they are very harsh on the skin and the blackheads will come back in a few days.
