Oh please! 1 point away from home against a team that beat Liverpool and drew against United and City isn't so bad if you look at it from this perspective.

Irony though that Gooners will be cheering on Spuds to take points off City while I'll be cheering on City to do the same for us. The 3 horse title race is still on. icon_rolleyes.gif

Liverpool is rattled with injuries with no backups coming in this window losing out transfer targets to a rival. We have more to be unhappy about.

Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge have played 11 Barclays Premier League games together this season and the only team to stop them both scoring is Arsenal.

Santi Cazorla has scored in two of his three Barclays Premier League appearances against Liverpool.

Arsenal v Liverpool has seen five hat-tricks scored; the most trebles of any fixture in Premier League history.

Liverpool have won just one of their last 13 Premier League games against Arsenal (W1 D7 L5) and none of the last six at Anfield (W0 D3 L3).

Arsenal have trailed in five of the last six Premier League games against Liverpool at Anfield and come back to win two and draw three of those five where they fell behind.

Arsenal have won six and lost none of their last seven Premier League games and netted exactly two goals in each of the last five.

The Gunners were the last team to stop Liverpool from scoring in the Premier League (Nov 2nd 2013), with the Reds netting 41 goals in their 14 games since.

There have been four 90th minute or later goals in the last five Premier League meetings between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield.

Only Arsenal (6) have conceded fewer goals on home soil than Liverpool (8) this season in the Premier League.

Wojciech Szczesny has kept more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper in the Premier League this season (11).

If PL games ended at half-time, Liverpool would be top by one point. However, if PL games only included the second half, Liverpool would be 8th and 19 points off the top.

Arsenal should thank us for this massive wake up call at the beginning of the most difficult set of fixtures I've seen in awhile. It's better to lose now to us than to lose to a fellow title challenger in City or Chelsea and even better when you get to do so early on. This would be seen as the turning point if Arsenal goes on to win the title at the end of the season.

At the end of the day it's just 3 points and nothing more. You are still in the title race folks and we are just a 4th place challenger. smile.gif

Imagine the confidence boost you will get IF you get that revenge victory against us in a week.

QUOTE(Thumpy Ick @ Feb 9 2014, 03:19 PM)
comparing the other title contenders' attacking unit with us, i realized we lack speed. city have navas/aguero going for them, liverpool have SASAS, utd have rooney/young, and chelsea have willian/hazard. with walcott out from the lineup there really is no clear sprinter in the team. and that game displayed all the things giroud couldn't do; countless times he tried to dribble and run past a defender but he just couldn't do it.

we're just one type of player away from being a complete team, the suarez/aguero type. we honestly haven't had that since henry, arshavin and cazorla are the closest that we have recently, but they're too easily outmuscled. but we've done well so far without that kind of player, i hope we keep doing what we've done this season.

no one in the top 4 is unbeatable, liverpool/chelsea/city drop points against lesser teams a lot, the reason why we're top is because we drop less points to weak teams than the other contenders. yeah i know we're no longer top and we might not be again for a few weeks as we have a few top sides to play next, but if we keep winning against lesser teams we'll do okay. unless we lose the league by goal difference. very unlikely, but still.

LOL Young? Really? Even the United fans themselves can't stand him much longer.

Arsenal imo is lacking mobile striker. Used to remember watching Henry drifting wide and Bergkamp dropping deep interchanging along with those intricate passes swift counterattack making the Invincibles hard to defend against. Giroud imo doesn't quite fit Arsenal's style.

Flamini instead of Ozil is clearly Arsenal's signing of the season but he isn't getting any younger and Diaby is far too injury prone. A young understudy might be needed there. Arsenal could also possibly have an upgrade at both full back positions, with Jenkinson not quite ready yet and Monreal really not up to standard. Sagna isn't getting any younger and doesn't seem willing to extend his contract.

Not here to troll but are you guys worried about Chicken FC?

I am. They look a different team under Sherwood. Even when they play badly they win. And 4-0 away today. Wow.
