..and there is some talk about Wenger is also searching for a box-to-box midfielder now, after the setback suffered by Ramsey.

our season is not over yet but we couldn't afford to drop point do we? You know with Chski and Citeh's performance and squad they can obtain all the points in this last 2 months.

Wenger's substitution is a bit weird for me, he kept Monreal on the pitch(all can see that he has a bad game, am i right?), and sub Carzorla out, leaving Poldi just few minutes only to change the game.

As if Arsenal played good and we lost, i won't blame about it, but if they played badly, I will be mad =.=  Wenger and co. always like to leave our own fate in other team's hand.  mad.gif

I bet Ozil is as disappointed as me for last night team's performance  cry.gif

Perhaps Wenger saw differently to Monreal case as oppose to us, normal fans. Thats is y he is d manager of one world top club n thats is d different between him m us. For sure, he knew y he started with Monreal ahead of Gibbs as he know Gibbs' current condition, while we dont.
As for Podolski case, i believed it isnt for game changing but more to kill d time as we were left with 10 heavylegs men on d field being bombarded by opponent.

I cringed so much looking at the last 10 pages of comments. To think that we mocked the fans of a certain club not too long ago, lulz. Morning2 don't forget to look at the mirror k. Your reflection may be tempted to slap your face even. That's not to say the team's performance should not be criticised. But agak2 la cheebai.
P.s Reliable sources such as Sky, Guardian and GeoffArsenal reporting of Draxler's positive situation and our interest in Schneiderlin/Matuidi/some CMF for the lulz

The thing is if podolski had played and we were shit people will be slating Arsene instead for not giving Gnabry a chance. Criticizing on hindsight is always easier.

We have won games with a lineup like last night and you cannot argue that gnabry, cazorla and Giroud were off form coming into this game. Giroud and Cazorla are in good goal scoring form and Gnabry has been solid each time he played. It's not that the players fielded ahead of podolski has been shit for an extended amount of time.

The lineup fielded from the start was tried and tested with every player in their best position if not secondary position. Putting in Podolski for Gnabry would mean santi on the right and Poldi on the left. Seriously have you ever seen Santi put on the right in the team sheet before? Next thing we know if we didn't win you will be complaining about Arsene experimenting putting players in unfamiliar positions in BPL matches.

Either way the team which was fielded was still more than capable of winning and it was the individuals on the pitch which were below par and disappointed.

Maybe i'll get flak for this, but Podolski to be subbed in at the last minutes of the game that we are levelled on scoring? And just jogging? Please show some heart to play, even though its in the dying minutes.

That is to just waste some time and secure the 1 points. Or he could have just taken the game by its neck and win it on his own.

Only he knows the particular instruction given to him by Wenger. Or he could have taken the initiative.

Man City and Chelsea WILL drop some points. Trust me on this. Going Invincible throughout the whole season is a monumental effort and a very big slice of luck.

Flamini/Arteta - Both of them are midfielders with the same role. So putting them together should have strengthen our defense. But with the pace of the game as fast as that, mistakes or being caught off is what will usually happens. And they have never gotten a run of games where they are partnered together. Maybe if they did, they could really become an impenetrable shield.

They should be partnered with a box-to-box midfielder. An outlet for them. That is why missing Rosicky, Wilshere and Ramsey in this game really hurt our game. No connection between defence and attack.

Or, it could be Podolski in the left, Santi in the middle and Özil on the right. Previously, Poldi himself said that he is better/suited/comfortable cutting inside from the left wing. And we have seen Santi best form from the middle from last season. Özil, he can play all front left, middle and right.

As I remember, our mobility gave our players more roaming options. But in the end. Its AW who gotta make decisions and he did. Last season we might lost this kind of games so going home with a point in hand isnt so bad either.

Was a bit dissapointed with the officials this season. That 1st goal shouldnt stand. Monreal clearly fouled. But, decisions were made, nothing would change now. Keep foreard and focus on the next game at home.

Ozil has never started anywhere else but the middle for us this season since he joined. I know he can play anywhere across midfield with his ability (mind you that piece of play where he cut in and set up Cazorla for our second was from when he was on the right) but putting him on the right primarily for the first time would still represent some sort of a gamble.

Agree that our players do interchange positions from time to time but for most part of the game they would still drift back to their primary positions as per Arsene's teamsheet instructions. At the end of the day team organization is still important.

The main point here is you can't blame Arsene for taking the safest option last night with his team selection in a BPL match. Every player was in their best position bar Santi whom I feel is better behind the striker down the middle. You can say Poldi is in good form, but the same can be said about Giroud, Cazorla and Gnabry.

We saw him experiment a bit in the last game with no holding midfielder at all and Ox in the centre of midfield but that was Coventry and Southampton clearly ain't no Coventry.

Yes, the first goal was a foul on Monreal. Heck they shouldn't even have got a freekick leading up to the goal in the first place. Mertesacker got the ball, it wasn't clean contact but he did touch the ball nonetheless.

Bottomline is, as mentioned earlier the team fielded early this morning was still more than capable of winning but were below par. I believe Arsene made the best choice he could've made at the time. I didn't say the right choice obviously because we didn't win. Its the players that disappointed.

We can blame the injuries all we want but matter of fact Sotong were missing Osvaldo, Lovren and Ramirez also.

Hopefully the players realizes this as well and come back stronger. I believe we are more than capable enough to give the teams we are going to face in Feb and Mar a good run for their money.
