i read that for those getting the bundle, cannot sign in your nnid (or whatever, never owned a DS before) or else the game gone or something. is this true?

It's my first 3ds too and I dont want to have a bad experience

the last series i played was MHP3 on psp. i find the controls for 3ds kinda weird xD need time to get used to it. Also, i feel kinda lost as its not as straight forward as MHP3

yeap i used to play with claw grip. now the 3ds controls are upside down haha and i have to rely on the C-stick which is kinda weird to me.

not just any new 3ds xl... its the MH4U one muahahah!

skills = armor skills. assuming you are using tetsucabra armor for blademaster, means that you will have:

Health +9
Defense +9
Sharpener +3
Torso Up +1
Gathering -7

according to http://kiranico.com/en/mh4u.

but those are just skill points, you need to reach certain points to "activate" the skill.

so example:

Defense +9. You need 1 more skill point to make it to +10. Once you get to Defense +10 you will active Defense Up (S) skill.

Now you will ask, how do you get the 1 more skill point for Defense? You can get it by adding Decorations (jewels) from the blacksmith. You need materials to unlock jewels, so go google to find out what you need. Once you get your deco, you can put it in the empty slots that your armor has.

Tetsucabra is a good starting armor for newbies that boost your defense and health once you activate those skills.

EDIT:

if you press start > status > page 3 > press Y , you can see how many points you need to activate whatever skill you have.
