Perhaps. But during my time in UUM, which was over 10 years ago, the story was such and already told via word of mouth from seniors to juniors.
There are more stories too, the type that gives you the creeps. Main gate story, Tasik Guthrie story, Kompleks Sukan story...UUM used to be a hotspot for such supernatural occurrences especially when it first opened as it is in the iddle of what used to be a jungle.

I'm afraid with the passing of time, some of these stories have been forgotten.

I was from UUM. Never encountered anything myself. I often walked from my friend's residential college to mine at 2, 3am but nothing happened. I had to cross a main road and walk up a slope for awhile before getting to my dorm.

Wow, never knew you guys are from UUM too. I really miss my life there. cry.gif

During my time, there were two cases of deaths that happened. One was a suicide in Kachi. The entire block was emptied after the suicide. The other was an unfortunate death. The guy had asthma and died in the middle of the night. His roommate found him dead the next morning. He must've shat bricks.

The other ghostly encounter that was very famous was the one where the lecturer dismissed a night class early and upon questioning, she mentioned that she saw a ghost sitting amongst the students.

The last scenario occurred during my time when UUM introduced night lectures. If I'm not mistaken it occurred at DKG 3/1 which was closed for quite some time. After opening it back for a week, similar issue occurred too in which the whole stretch of unoccupied chairs (like the one in cinemas which will fold itself up if it's unoccupied) unfold themselves in the middle of lecture session.

A senior of mine had to skip a semester back then. He started acting strange all of a sudden which got his roommate scared.

He started singing loudly whenever he went to take bath & wouldn't switch off room light when sleeping. This was nothing to his roommate at first.

Then one day he woke his roommate up & told him that he saw many heads flying around in the room.

Things got out of hand when his roommate woke up in the middle of the night & saw him using penknife cutting the roommate's basketball while staring at the roommate. This had the roommate Ming away to friend's room & the said senior also doesn't dare to sleep by himself in his own room. We all had to avoid the said senior as we were too afraid to have him in our room. sad.gif

Right in front of my own eyes almost any night since I sleep very late. The driver is ustaz & he stops his bus at every stop, open the door, close it before moving to the next stop.

OK I guess it's my turn.

For those who stayed in UUM, it's very normal to have your room changed every semester or year. However, me & my roommate kept getting the same room each semester when we reported in again. I stayed in Eon & I still remember that it was G317.

Our life was pretty smooth to be honest though we do have seniors who from time to time queried us if the room was OK. However, things got a little interesting in the final 3rd year we were there.

There were once when my roommate went home to Pahang in the wee morning & me after lunch. It wasn't a semester break but long enough to warrant us a trip back home. There were a few of our hostel mates who didn't go home though since life is very relaxing in UUM.

Anyway, on the second day home, I got a call from one of those who stayed back telling me that my roommate was acting strange.

"What kind of strange?" I asked.

They told me that last night after I left, they stopped by my room & asked my roommate through the door if he wanted to join them for dinner (which was pretty standard back then). They said my roommate shouted through the door that he wasn't interested.

Then the next day, my roommate rejected them again for lunch & dinner hence the reason they called me to inquire if my roommate was OK.

I told them frankly right on the spot that whatever answered them wasn't my roommate since he was back earlier than I did. They swore that it was my roommate's voice though.

There was another episode where my roommate left home again & I was alone in the room for a week. One of those days, I woke up with my roommate's drawers & cupboard open. I initially thought that my room was ransacked by thief but upon checking the lock that we installed, it was still latched on so if someone went out, it was literally impossible to have the lock latched on again.

If you asked me how I survived my last year in that room, I'm only glad that it didn't manifest itself in front of my eyes. biggrin.gif

Hmm... not sure if all rooms in Guthrie have the beds upgraded but in Eon, some rooms were provided with single bed while some were with double-decker even though there were only 2 people in the room.
