A friend of mine like to have this model but I still thinking if I should advise her to wait for S660 instead.

One more thing, isn't it true that rumor has it that this S650 model will get Android Kit Kat in due course?

Care to elaborate further on what do you mean by "a lot", especially in term of system and hardware. Thank you in advance.

Any comment on the ROM and have you guys tried to flash it to the ROW ROM as in the official Malaysia phone?

Couldn't google this ROM... Link pls...

The VIBEROM_V1.0_2407_2_ST_S650 come with S650 (AP) from satugadget, so I don't have the link. I just wonder if any of you guys manage to flash standard Malaysian ROM (ROW) to replace this VIBEROM_V1.0_2407_2_ST_S650. Thank you in advance.

I didnt buy frm directD instead got it from lowyatplaza(AP@rm480) last week..
guess this is the ROM Version--S650_ROW_S112_sjrom

1 question, izit me or the wifi signal is poor/low on this phone? any ori set holder can comment? wana know if its becoz of ap/ori difference or lenovo phones are all like that?tq
*
Wow, I can see that U got yourself an ROW version of ROM. Lucky U.

The WiFi is so damn poor compared to my Lenovo A850. Hell, even my old Xperia do better. Make me think twice about getting the newer S660, as the hardware is basically the same as S650, apart from the bigger battery.

dear all,

was planning to get the S660 but the thickness and the GPU is holding me back.
the battery capacity of the S660 is what im attracted to.

does anyone knows where to get the 2700mAh battery for the S650.
i like to play shooting games like Frontline commando 2.

not sure which one of these 2 model can handle it.

thank you all in advance
*
Don't you EVER believe if someone selling you 2700mAh battery of the same size of the orginal 2000mAh. EVER!!!

Sun battery (among others) is one of those bogus claim battery, based on me and my friends personal experience.

Moral of the story, to be absolutely safe, stick with original battery.

wat is diff of row rom?

Viberom got some chinese character here and there even after u switch to english. ROW don't.

As for the advice that you requested. I would say if you don't mind a slightly weaker wifi (compared to A850) then by all means, go for S650, because the phone is such a great phone for its price. No other phone (that I can think of right now) can even come close.

Weaker wifi [home wifi or public wifi]  For me I don't use public wifi.

I tested it on public wifi and compare it with A850 at the same time.

using this phone for 3 weeks now, took to Hong Kong and use for 1 week @ Disneyland and all, the camera performance there was great, the battery life is good, lasts about a day or 2 depending on usage, 3 days max without turning on data.

tip : once you change the camera setting to 8mp it will always stay at 8MP (good job lenovo) smile.gif

to those who havent bought this phone : please buy the ori set, i bought mine for 599 with screen protector and ori casing, the ori set has much better cellular quality then the AP set. i bought the A850 then changed to this, and so fa this is the better choice ( better camera quality and can set default storage to external memory ) smile.gif
ps. I'm just 16
you can ask me any other questions about this phone smile.gif ill be happy to tell you my experience with it.
*
Never heard of any ori version phone, only AP so far. Care to shed some light?

I didn't really get your question, mind rephrasing the question?

If you're asking about whether the original set is available here, it is, I got mine at 1Gadget for 599, they have the AP set for 499.

If you're asking about the difference between both, the original set is a release of the phone specifically made for the country and warranty is covered by the manufacturing company (in this case, Lenovo Malaysia ) likewise the AP set is a release made for a country besides where you are staying, (in this case Malaysian AP sets are usually from china) and warranty is only covered by the dealer / company you bought the phone from. smile.gif

Hope this info helps, if this isn't what you were asking, you could ask again smile.gif

Ooops! My bad. I guess I mixed up this thread with the A880 thread. My apology.
