very light.
something funny, it can only use the cable that came with it (very thick cable).
when i try to use other replacement cheapo cable, the laptop failed to detect the dvd rom.
then i switch back to the original cable it works again.

Is the Y50 free dos version still available? Can't seem to find it anymore..

Many sellers are reporting that it's out of stock.

Its a hot selling model, u need to act fast.

Next batch will arrive early next month with revise spec/price as below.

hmm the screen monitor is locked at 48hz refresh rate plus bad scaling issue while gaming in 1080p, imo not a right time to get y50 with 4k screen now.

Nope, current model come with 1TB HDD or 512GB SSD for high end model.

Thats the highest capacity SSHD they can configure.

Its seems that 1TB HDD is shortage in Lenovo factory according to resellers in China. Thats why Y50 in China spec with hybrid 500GB + 8GB SSHD at cheaper price.
Wish we will get the hybrid SSHD for faster response time.

Y50 current models now only up in local Lenovo site, but Y50/DOS almost out of stock.

Screen is not up to my standard. The brightness is lower than expectation......one can always plug a FHD monitor

Yup, external ODD is bundle with local set Y50.

Y50/DOS restock ETA early sept with revise spec/price as in post #869.

U have to understand, that is for anything which is available in and on the laptop, not bundled along.

But there are no options for configuration...

You were saying the new revised DOS spec will comes with SSHD, is it confirmed?

Nope, u can check with reseller or wait for it.

Guys i am looking for the y50 UHD IPS 16 GB model. I called every single retailer, they say the new stock only arrival at 9 september. I be going to overseas to study on 9 september, i need to get it before that. Any ideas where i can buy it?

don't worry that, normally you dvd rom will gone long before the cable.
unless you do something funny to the cable.

nay... the dos version come with a slow 1tb 5400rpm hdd.

Local Lenovo official launch Y50-70, Flex 2, Z50-70 series and updated their website after 1-2 month of selling., too slow lol.
