Main reason for buying this is the 860m.

Many laptops out there with DDR3 850m.

I think next Y series will be replaced with Intel Broadwell first than the new Maxwell 9xx series.
Broadwell will be coming this holidays.

After using it for few days there's a few issue I've detected:

1) The LAN port
I always goes online by using LAN cable. After done with work I shut down as the normal way it is and go some places. Next I go a place with WiFi connection and I boot up my laptop. My laptop would not recognise any wireless nearby and it thinks that It still connect with the LAN Cable. I've to restart the laptop and boot up again and then it will recognise nearby WiFi. Is that normal?

2) Capslock Button
I try to press the capslock button during the windows interface. The small LED light would not turns on. Instead I've to let it loading a few program first, then it is ok. Have you guys encoutered this?

The problem is not serious but it does bother me. Thats not including the low brightness of the TN Panel as I've come from Lenovo previous flagship Y580. The screen is quite OK if compared to this one. rclxub.gif

Ok cool thanks!
Was tossing up between the Acer and Asus but am leaning towards Asus because of the international warranty.
That aside, are there any things that I should consider while choosing between both?
Really curious to know which performs better overall.

personally, I'd choose asus Gaming laptop over Acer due its' better built & looks. smile.gif tongue.gif

With that high temperature, its about time to thermal repaste and clean the fan.
*
I just did a mod on the cooling system.
now CPU and GPU temp is way cooler when running COD: Advance Warfare with a cooling pad in room w/o A.C.

Will post 'bout it later.

Hence the reason I ask for international warranty because I won't be in Malaysia for majority of the year.
And yeah I've read about their horrible customer serviceĀ  hmm.gif

the only complain I have is the 14 working days policy.
AFAIK, all warranty claim will be settled within 14 working days.
however, they are not obliged to settle it as soon as possible but within 14 working days[minus delivery, maybe].
I send in my laptop for a simple re-image[format] of the drive, it took 12[or 14, maybe, can't remember] working days to settle[including delivery].

If the product itself is reliable and of good quality then that can be avoided.
Any reliability issues that are known so far for the ASUS G551?
*
I don't own Asus G551.
you may google.

mind helping me decide?

Since I managed to mod the cooling system and run COD: Advanced Warfare @ acceptable performance and temperature on y400, I decided to upgrade the storage instead.

should I go for 120GB SSD or 1Tb 5400rpm as secondary storage for y400?
primary usage is gaming and storage for video.
keep in mind that I hate long loading time.

yes, I did secondary storage drive mod on y400 before but that HDD died awhile ago.
yes, OS already on a SSD primary drive.
