Swapped my stock monitor for an IPS LG LP156WF4-SPB1. Colors are more accurate (no more blue tinting and black backgrounds look like real black rather than just dark grey), texts is much more readable without causing eyestrain, viewing angles are incredible (no need worry about adjusting positioning). DEFINITELY WORTH changing to IPS, I'm not a designer or photoshopper but the difference is like day and night.

QUOTE(N30rang3r @ Sep 30 2014, 03:07 PM) I have same problem as well, my room is dusty and my hands oily so I have a plastic duster and cloth specially to clean glasses Plastic duster for annoying dist particles Glasses Cloth for oily smudge marks The Y50 is like a goddess, demanding attention every minutes By Glasses Cloth u mean Microfiber cloth? I've googling around and I found one of the method is by using isoprophyl alcohol. As it can remove the stain and vaporize quickly. If you are doing any artwork, it is suggested. I heard from Storm88

QUOTE(kwayteow @ Oct 1 2014, 06:11 PM) For 15.6" IPS screens it's usually AUO, LG (old ones may be called LG/Philips) or Sharp (rare). So yeah, they all order from the same few manufacturers. but are the quality the same?

Plug and play you'd find Yellow color more intense than any other color (might affect you if you do artwork / texturing / photoediting) I'm not really good with Calibrations so I'd wait for Tech Armory (Storm88) to bring in his calibration tool so I can bring in to calibrate.

New Y50 user reporting in, this machine is a beast ! However, I'm wondering if anyone could help on a few things:
1)How to register for Lenovo Reapmore promo, since I didnt buy from retail, bought from our fellow @devour. 2) The screen resolution, especially on reading texts. Certain texts looks blurred out and strain my eyes alot. Currently resolution is set at default 1920x1080. 3) The 15" Lenovo laptop bag looks like it's probably worth 40 bucks, unlike my previous HP bags.

Promo is for retails unit with retail price. 2) it is agreed that the vision is kinda blur but not too obvious and still readable. The screen resolution is at it best. 3) I've made complain with the Lenovo retail shop at the lowyat ground Plaza about the backpack. During my purchase, my spouse are considering Lenovo S400 and Dell Vostro. Both are thin laptops. But because of their cheapo quality bag she turn to Dell. Girls are not like guys when purchasing a gadget, we are looking to the performance. They're more considering the looks and free gift. And because of that Lenovo lost a potential buyer

Same experience as I do. Not just the panel, The keyboard too experienced oily surface. I've been searching isopropyl at chemical shop around my area but they are not available. I'll update here if this method works

Official Illegear seller do provide colour calibration. But I'm not sure about the cost and if they support Lenovo model
