May i ask, i am currently using the BitComet 0.70 but was planning for an upgrade as there is newer version available.Should i stick to this version or do myself a favor in upgrading to the newer version?

In comparison between uTorrent and BitComet, which do you guys think is better in term of speed and stability?I had read many good reviews regarding the uTorrent before and is thinking of giving it a try since i had been using the BitComet since the first day...

Thanx..what do u feel about uTorrent?have u use it before? Is it better than BitComet?

Anyway, does newer version of BitComet actually increases the download speed?Or its just some minor differences?

Like you download a free trial software from a website, it will show you a window that is downloading (that is a HTTP download). BitComet 0.75 comes with HTTP download manager, which you can pause the download and resume back.
*
Wow..then this is good news..That means i will have a download manager in one with the BitComet...Maybe i should give it a try..

lolz same idea wif tan_pang laugh.gif
as long as u enable "Hash-check again" then oni can say it's stable
else, ur dl'ed files will b incomplete.. smile.gif
*
Well, just tried 0.75 yesterday.Download 4 files but having 2 on queue. Wake up today and realise 2 files uncomplete while the other 2 is downloading. Both stuck at 99.6% even with hash check again on..Now i had changed back to version 0.70 which i am more familiar with...

oops.. my bad..
actually, on post #545, im still using v0.75..
after i installed v0.76, im in hurry 2 post out here n didnt notice bout tat..
(haha.. totally out of topic.. tongue.gif)

btw, tested v0.76 so far, im satisfying..
2 those who r still using v0.75.. come n update 2 v0.76 !! laugh.gif
*
Well, i still dont rate the v0.75 as stable version.Still prefers the 0.70.Anyway, i still see that many people are sticking to the 0.70 rather than moving towards the newer version.Unless the 0.76 is declared as stable like the 0.70, i dont think many people will start to shift...

i upgrade to BitComet 0.76
becoz i notice that in the Client Type that using 0.75 or 0.76 with DHEv2 can send more data to me and vice versa
the speed is improve abit compare to 0.70 even throttle
*
Will the DHEv2 really effective on speed?I checked in BitComet but there is still many people who is running on 0.70.Not many are on 0.75 and above which has the DHEv2..

btw i tried 0.76 it's definitely faster than 0.70
*
Well, the HTTP function is more or less the same as other download managers around.Nothing much difference over here...

Well, the connection speed is definitely faster..It takes less time to connect to the seeds available..Downloading speed wise, i cant really see any changes.Maybe slight difference there. Anyway, the resource thing, i had been facing this since the 0.70 version. The longer i open the program, the more resource it will take...

if all the peer are 'local' show in initiation tab
please do the port forward
*
Firstly, the link didnt really work as well..Not sure why as URL u had posted is right..But i had found the site on my own.Thanx alot...

Anyway, does port forwarding means, by having my Router set up a specific IP and have the listening port that i am currently using opened?Actually last time when u use to try uTorrent, it did help me set that up and i am using the same port for my BitComet.I did set up the port on my router and opened it but its still showing local only.Other than that, its all disconnected...Not sure what happened though..

maybe for VIP purposes? doh.gif, IMO... i used to use BC, now switch to µTorrent because i can get higher d/loading speed on µTorrent compared to BC wink.gif
*
Well, i tried uTorrent before but i dont really like it.maybe its because i used to BC already.Anyway, from what i notice, uTorrent have faster connection speed compared to BC but never really notice the download speed though..My line here is downloading at about 50kb++

will this affect the speed of download/upload?

From what i have seen, many sites do reccomend to turn it off.I personally turn it off and see slight speed increase. So, why not give it a try..

Well, you would have to wait.Currently i cant really recommend the newer version due to some bugs available..Anyway, i do realise my BitComet takes a while before it was up to speed again. It was like when i first start it, the speed was very low and if i keep it on for a few moments, the speed will start to pick up until it burst the meter and i cant even surf the net anymore..Running at about 50+kb for 512MB line..

Can someone help me here..

Last time, i did port forwarding to my bitcomet and everything was fine.Connection was ok and speed was good as well.I am able to connect remote peers and local as well..

The problem is, i cant connect to remote peers already. It is stuck with only local ones.Even if i reconfigure my port fowarding and listening port as well as changing IP addresses, its just the same.I cant connect to remote peers..May i know what might be the problem that is happening?

just wait for the submarine to fix the line first then.
*
O..so this is due to the submarine line problem?Everyone else having the same issue? The reason i am asking is because last time in my hometown (during the cable problem thing), i am still able to connect to remote seeds but when i switch back to KL, its a different story..Only having local ones..

U mean have to download the software ? and then ?
*
I dont think you need to download any software. There is a few procedures that you must follow to do port forwarding.Anyway, there is plenty of links that will help you perform port forwarding at the first post of the thread.I personally find this one very useful in helping me get some good speed..

Well, its strange when i come back to my hometown, i can connect to remote peers without any problem at all.Download speed is great at about 58kbps on a 512MB line. But down in KL, its impossible to get remote peers no matter what you do.Download rate is at a mere 5kbps on a 1MB line...
