Hi guys,

Thinking of getting this amazing game, have some basic questions on mind, read through some basic guides but didn't found my answer

1. Deluxe version versus normal version, i saw some of the in-game content for deluxe version, may i know what are these extra goodies? are they combat good or cosmetic purposes item?
2. Is this game pay to win? saw some item in cash shop but not sure what the items does.

1. Normal version is more then enough. Deluxe version gives a few ingame perks which will not significantly be missed compared to the normal version.

2. Cash shop items are basically for more perks and cosmetic purposes. The ingame currency (Gold) can be traded for cash shop currency (Gems) depending on the supply and demand of the market at the time. Basically, there is nothing you can't obtain with ingame Gold

yup, the cash shop a.k.a gemstore in GW2 , contains mostly cosmetic (skins etc), convenience (repair kit, revive orb etc not usable in pvp) and services (name change, expand bank slot, buy character slot etc).

one-time glory bonus (ONE USE ITEM)
a one-time influence bonus (ONE USE ITEM)
a five-day (5) Asuran Banker Golem (5 DAYS MULTI USE ITEM)

PERMANENT ITEMS:
a Miniature Rytlock (mini pet)
Summon Mistfire Wolf elite skill (elite skill)

only 2 permanent items.
perhaps you think of it as USD10 for the mini Rytlock and USD10 for the summon mistfire wolf elite skill.

the other 2 one time use and 5 days golem is just a bonus.

glory is sPvP currency, and will be removed in the future.
influence is guild resources, used for guild upgrades.

2. Is this game pay to win? saw some item in cash shop but not sure what the items does.
no, guild wars 2 is not pay to win.
the cash shop items are convenience (character slots, bank slots, bag slots etc) and cosmetic (weapon armor skins etc)

got various boosters as well (experience points, magic find, etc) but those are really optional and not required to "win" the game.




and if you do decide to give guild wars 2 a try, join us in Sea of Sorrows (NA) north american servers, not europe.

in europe servers, you will experience massive lag delays.

this game can be very casual indeed if you want it to be, but can also be very stressful if you're aiming to be perfectionist.... the high level of casuality of this game may not seem very attractive to some people who like to grind stuff.

the highest tier of gear in this game is ascended which can be crafted (armor and weapon), and also can be obtained via npc barterer and dungeon drops (trinkets). for casuals, exotics should be sufficient.....

you can also collect dungeon gear if you enjoy doing dungeons..... you'll need to collect tokens for that. tokens in GW2 are guaranteed as long as you complete a dungeon path. it's not like in WoW or LotRO where you'll have to roll for a dungeon token....


2. easiest class to learn and start with?

easymode ? i'll have to say warrior... if you like to troll and harass people, play thief.. lol, although you'll need to be proficient at it...

if you have friends already playing the game, you can simply copy his GW2 game folder.... copy and paste...

eh u guys magic find how many % ah? how to improve?

you can improve magic find by consuming some sort of luck item, i can't remember the name....

to get that item, you'll need to salvage items ... any item will do, armor, weapon, or salvage items themselves....

mine is still around +65%.....

one thing to note : the amount of luck point needed to increase the magic fine getting higher and higher with each percent....you can see at at the heroes panel... press H ingame...

can anyone tell me what are the sources for ascended gears? i know we can craft, and puchase with laurel, and big chest like wurm event.

any other sources for this? can get from dungeon? or purchase with any form of currency?

fractals...

you have chance get ascended rings from fractal daily chest (fractal personal rewards level 10 and above).

you can also exchange 10 pristine fractal relic ( obtained from fractal daily chest, guaranteed 1 token) for one ring...

sorry but what is fractal? tried to search but dun really understand are they the currency from dungeon?

by the way, the stats increase from ascended armor is very, very small.
try not to worry about it too much.

for myself, i do not have ascended weapons and armor yet as i cannot be bothered to craft them.

i am using full exotics weapons, armor plus ascended trinkets for my warrior.

finally i can craft my ascended armor

bought a zerker stat amulate, got enough pristine relic to buy another ring now, but not sure what stat to choose now, should i go all for zerker? or knight or even soldier?

i plan to advance into high level fractals as current reward level is 11, anyone can advice what stat should i pick?

Well, if depending on when the new sigil/rune combos + ferocity stat will be implemented, zerker will be nerfed 10% damage. But it will still be best in slot for damage output...

But DPS is the popular method to go in PVE. The faster you kill, the less damage you will take.

edit: just to add, you have a small chance of getting ascended weapon/armor chests and trinkets from WvW rank chests.
