Anyway, when I was working in a MNC before, the boss told us that when you gona quit, you gona write to thanks everyone. The 'ang mor' culture there is like that. Like to thank this and thank that.

But to me 拍一拍衣袖不带走一片云彩.

I'll make your life easier by giving you my resignation letter...

Hi There, please accept this letter as my formal notice of resignation from (company name), effective (date). The associations I've made during my employment here will truly be memorable to me.

I hope a one-week notice is sufficient for you to find a replacement for me. If I can help to train my replacement or tie up any loose ends, please let me know.

Thank you for the opportunity to work for such an outstanding organization.

Sincerely,
(name)

My supervisor was ok with it. Theres no need to brag a lot. Just get straight to the point and say you're leaving and they usually won't bother to read the rest.
Cheers!

Bro, the threadstarter is asking for farewell letter and not resignation letter lah. doh.gif

@threadstarter,

Just write thank you to everyone, some main ones with reason, like thank your boss for the opportunity.

Been a wonderful experience working here, meeting so many colleagues who is willing to impart knowledge/assist/etc

Today is my last day here. I wish you all the best and hope to keep in touch.

Give personal email, contact etc (if you want)

Regards,

so and so.

Send the email, go around sometime before the office hour ends, go shake hand, tell them personally. Most important your bosses, must see them and say bye bye yada yada yada.

Usually my ex-colleagues send the farewell letter an hour or two before they left. Have time for others to reply their letter and send our wishes to them...

There is this one particular company that was facing massive resignations at one stage, a mass hysteria was uprising. Every month, there would be around 5 emails with the title "Last Day at XYZ" or "Farewell My Friends".

HR Manager had to implement some drastic meassures, and resigning staff were given strict orders NOT TO write any resignation related emails to the company-wide email (e.g. everyone@xyz.com).

Some dude was dead pissed, so he came up with a rather creative good-bye email:
