Software Engineer, what job is it about?

maybe going for an interview for the above post later.
guys can briefly tell me what this job is all aobut?
my programming skill very very weak. whether C, C++ microprocessor etc.
the software enginner job is do what 1? write program only or...? please help.

Depends on the company, but mostly it will revolve around programming work, for some company it's purely programming, for some company it's programming + testing + a bit of project management,
but programming will definitely be there.

I'm currently working as a software engineer here in London. While my job does involve coding, I'm more involved in the design stage of the system.
I don't know if this job title is abused in M'sia (much like business procurement consultant), but if you're a SE, you should be involved in the entire SDLC, not just the development stage.
