ConnectCounty Holdings Bhd (Connect) posted a net profit of RM1.68 million for the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2015, compared to net loss RM1.31 million a year earlier.

In a statement last Friday (Nov 20), the company said revenue for the quarter under review was also higher at RM17.7 million, compared with RM13.3 million registered in the third quarter last year.

On a cumulative basis, Connect recorded a net profit of RM3.27 million, on the back of a revenue of RM48.02 million, for the first nines month period ended Sept 30.

It said this was an improvement compared to a loss after tax of RM1.38 million, from a revenue of RM40.99 million recorded in the preceding year corresponding period.

Connect's executive director Ang Chuang Juay said the positive performance stemmed mainly from the company’s overall improvement in sales, coupled with significant operational cost savings.

“We are confident that we will continue this growth momentum, as we tap into more opportunities within our existing interconnect business.

“In anticipation of increased global demand, Connect is also expanding into more lucrative industrial markets such as white goods and automotive, as well as increasing its portfolio of customers across different market segments,” he said.

Ang said Connect had recently made a breakthrough in the automotive sector, when it secured a contract with an US-based automaker, CalAmp, a leader in the mobile resource management and machine-to-machine space.

CONNECTCOUNTY HOLDINGS BERHAD- INCORPORATION OF A NEW MAJORITY-OWNED SUBSIDIARY IN CHINA, HS CO., LTD.

The Board of Directors of Connect wishes to inform that it has received notification that the wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, Rapid Conn (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (“RCC”) had on 12 February 2015 incorporated a new majority-owned subsidiary in China, namely HS Co., Ltd. with the registration no. 440306112261917 ("the Incorporation").

HS Co., Ltd. is a private limited company which has subsription share capital of RenMinBi (“RMB”) 5,000,000 comprising 5,000,000 subscription shares of RMB1/- each. The shareholding structure of HS Co., Ltd. shall be as follows:-

HS Co., Ltd. has not commenced business since its Incorporation.

The Incorporation was funded through internally generated funds and the Incorporation is not expected to have any material effect on the earnings per share, net assets per share, gearing, share capital and substantial shareholders’ shareholding of Connect for the financial year ending 31 December 2015.

The Board of Directors of Connect is of the opinion that the Incorporation is in the best interest of Connect.

Recently the group also officially qualified as an Apple MFI (Made for iPhone/ iPod/ iPad) manufacturer, which means that the company can now produce all Apple cables under this licence. It expects this to further increase its profit margins in the foreseeable future.
ConnectCounty is also expected to benefit from its status as an approved vendor to Technicolour Cisco, number one global market leader with €3 billion (RM14 billion) in annual sales and 60 million devices shipped annually...

The automotive sector is also causing an uptick in demand for interconnect devices. In fact, it has become the biggest end-product market for interconnects as the devices are used in various applications, ranging from lighting to safety controls. As more and more automakers adopt advanced electronic systems in their products, demand for interconnects can only increase further...

The group's China facility manufactures custom cable assemblies, wire harness, USB cables, audio and video cables, computer peripheral cables, custom cables and flat cable assemblies.

Integrated interconnect solutions provider ConnectCounty Holdings Bhd is investing RM20 million to expand its manufacturing capacity in 2016, specifically for its China facility.
