Hi Guys,

I owned a Jetta and it comes with Pirelli P7 (Made in Brazil) after 5 years. The style of my driving is city between speed to 0-100KM, i hate following a slow car in front. Highway usually top speed at 160KM. I am very happy with the tyre for the reasons as below.
Tyre spec (205/55/16)
- Good Grip (Both Wet and Dry) I never felt the car perform different on heavy rain or hot day.
- Noise (I dunno how to judge but the engine and the motobike is more nosier while in the car)
- Handling (I am very confident neg. corner at the preferred speed)

The car clocked in 30K mileage (low mileage) and the tyre is 5 years old and is time to replace.

I have been shopping for awhile on tyre to replace the current Pirelli P7 (205/55/16) (Made in Brazil).

I have shortlisted to the following:
1. Michelin PS3 (Top Choice because of recommendation and made in Thailand)
2. Pirelli Cinturato P7 (Second Top Choice because of good sidewall but it was Made in China. If it is not Made in China it would be my top choice)
3. Continental CC5/MC5 (Eliminated because of soft sidewall and mostly recommend Michelin PS3)

The prices:
1. Michelin PS3 (Thailand Made) (RM 355 - excl. GST)
2. Pirelli Cinturato P7 (China Made) (RM 360 - excl. GST)
3. Continental CC5/MC5 (Malaysia Made if i remembered correctly) (RM 360 - excl. GST)

I would love to heard some feedback on Pirelli Cinturato P7 (Made in China) from LowYat folks here. If no good feedback about the it, I might want to go for Michelin PS3 for good record tracking purpose.

Thank You.

Oops. Seems like i posted in the wrong thread.

By the way, i seen some ppl commented about P7 is mid cat. and PS3 is UHP cat. which is one grade above mid-cat.

QUOTE(arthur88 @ May 16 2016, 07:53 PM)
whre u get ur hands on P7?
when i change to P1 few years back, there is only P1 available...
i was asking for P7 but no stock...
anyway, after 2 years using P1, the wet grip not really good when heavy rain(hardly road in front that kind of heavy rain)
can feel car sway left and right abit when speed is around 90/100km/h...

I am staying in Penang. Found 2 shops are selling P7 for 205/55/16, One recommended me P7 another one PS3. Another shop told me P7 do not have for 16" tyre in Malaysia.

I have another vehicle equipped with the Conti. CC5. The P1 and CC5 are entry level tyre as I learned lately. I too have the same problem as you experience on P1 for my CC5. Very shaky on high speed, neg. corner is nightmare.

You may check on https://www.facebook.com/PirelliTiresMalaysia/ which i stubmle upon through Google. I just message them to verify if P7 do have for 16" tyre in Malayisa.

I just check out on MICHELIN site @ http://www.michelin.com.my/Products-Servic...ot%20Sport%203#.

There were so many good reviews. Trying to convince myself for PS3. LoL..

Comment from other site who answered my query:
"Actually you already answered your own question. CC5 are entry level, MC5 and P7 mid level and PS3 are UHP tyres and all cost almost the same and since your priorities are more into handling and grip, PS3 is your answer.....lol"
