Too bad the carbon do not improve the typing experience but indeed increase aesthetic feel on the keyboard.
Because it's still a plastic. Carbon fiber <<resin>> composite. The resin is any mainstream polymer resin in composite.

Kobo series very expensive. Especially gold and black carbon composite..

OEM profile have R1-R4. You will noticed each row are different type of keycaps.
Those same Row numbers have same type.
You can remove some and see for yourself.

Edit: Cherry profile have this kind of arrangement too. But I'm not sure about the naming, my imsto do not have write anything R.

Forget to mention, when you remove your keycaps using keypuller.
Hint: Look at the back of the keycaps.
