You have to let the port to bypass the built-in firewall in Mac as well.

System Preferences - Sharing - Firewall.

If you dosen't enable the firewall, all ports will be allowed.

makesure you forward the port properly. Let's say u have:

Modem -----> Wifi Router ---> Mac
(192.168.1.1) (192.168.1.2) (10.0.0.1)

you should forward your port:
Modem ----> 192.168.1.2

then:
Wifi Router ----> 10.0.0.1

i also use transmission.. it quite fast.. you need to wait for it to find more seeders.. and one more thing about transmission is that transmission is just a little program

eh? u launch from Apps folder or the disk on deaktop?
its normal that the Azureus did that, it's running some setup at the background when u first launch or just updated. wait a while then the app will run.
