We can see our neighbour already now providing 1Gbps Fibre Network, which is 102.4 times faster then our average 5-10Mbps Fibre connection.
Why Malaysia Telco and ISP really FAIL at Competitive Pricing?

Not much technology innovation and application. I do feel like Most Malaysian's needs are easily satisfied. rclxub.gif

Not really much people like to push the boundaries.

Also why can't our current internet infrastructure support this kind of speed.

And in 2014... We still have this. SCREAMYX.

I cannot blame the government, they can't control the whole Malaysia properly.

Hei bro... At least be thankful for having internet. Some countries don't even have internet. In fact, internet is a luxurious thing. Be thankful.

Yes, but if we keep our standards like this, there won't be any improvement in our society.

We are improving, just that, we should also be thankful. There is no reason for faster internet, unless you running business.

Unifi is based on GPON. 1gbps or even more is possible between unifi nodes. They not offering this for end user. 100mbps is available upon business request.

Back in 2008 Malaysia government announce RM10billion stimulus for HSBB project when only SG spent like SGD 1billion to wire up island for 1Gbps access liek today.

RM10billion was more than enough to make all phone lines in all cities and town in Malaysia to get 20mbps by now if spent properly.

What we end up?

Today UniFi still so limited, and TM already ran out of money to further expand. They only going to places with high demand.

There is plenty use of bandwidth if the country has lots of mirror servers, co-location, IPTV and data centre hosting services.

Just that Malaysia doesn't have much of it and cronies playing dirty monopoly tricks with their contents.
