Dear all sifus,

I wanna design signboard for my company. Low budget so design i need to do it by myself.

Wanna ask, if 20ft x 4ft signboard, which size should I put?

Full size : Width (20x12") x Height (4x12") = 240inch x 48inch
Resolution 100pixels/inch or 300?
Color Mode: CMYK 8bit or 16 bit?

If put full HD, 300 dpi, 16bit, the file is damn big. Is it normal?

usually ppl won't do the design in full size. u can reduce it's size by half or 4x of the original. when u print, tell the printer what's the actual size and he'll blow it up.

pixel per inch put 300. the higher the pixel per inch, the sharper it'll remain after blow up.

for print is always CMYK. bit doesn't matters

thanks for useful info.

I always save my artwork in JPEG and send to printing company.

Should I follow the article, by saving in PDF?

you should ask from your printer first, ask them for file settings and the files format that they prefer.

I usually send in pdf file or tif. 150DPI will do fine for some printers but then again, ask first.

There's compression in jpg. Use a lossless format ie. .tif

Photoshop won't be optimal for this. You should use Illustrator.

Saving in PDF will help helpful for printers.
