May I ask ..

1. Does alternator can be directly connected to the power window motor ? Some say yes, some say need thru battery for more stable
2. Alternator output ampere is 40A, if directly connected to the power window motor need to add anything? Such as reducing the ampere or anything?

*note* the problem is not on my car, i just need to research for my final project...

hope Sifus here can help me tongue.gif

Now new car, everything control by ECU, but generally on old car, the power window motor specification is match with the alternator output... so for FYP, you need to source the right components lo..

if m not mistaken, ampere depends on how much current the device draw. so the answer is there is no need a device to reduce ampere. what u need to make sure is the voltage.

alright..but alternator output voltage maximum is 14.4v right? should be no problem if use to drive power window motor which need 12v to operate... biggrin.gif

Check the specification of the powe window component, it usually state its amperage as well.
