always the navy the first one to crumble during war..
well, Ukraine's navy ships are few, all obsolete and ancient..so they wouldn't put much of a fight anyway..
that leaves the air force and the army
both branch are strong, Ukraine's Air Force will be a serious problem for Russia and Crimea..
Russia will have a hard time trying to obtain air superiority over Ukraine..
Ukraine's Air Force seems sturdy with their 48 Hinds, hundreds of Mig-29, 36 Frogfoot, 16 Flanker...
but i think maybe half of the air force will also defect to Russia/Crimea..
i think we can see a lot of defections in this conflict

They also have alot of SAM system thanks to russia tongue.gif

Surely a headache for russia. But since russian develop most of the weapon, they sure have some tricks up their sleeves to counter it. rolleyes.gif

plus alot o tanks..Although old, but it still a vast number to be an headache for Russian

As a PMC they're employed by the Interior Ministry (i/e the government),so i guess some of their heavy equipment is loaned out by the government. From my research, these guys are a PMC group created but not part of the government called Vnevedomstvenaya Okhrana (Private Security Section). Probably created just for these kinds of situations where the Russians need to take direct military action but still have that deniability factor (no matter how thin the disguise are,c'mon everybody knows these guys are russians.....)

A convoy of BTR wheeled APCs on the move
No magazines? maybe for now only has orders to act only as non-combat troops. It's like "we're not here for a fight, see we don't even have ammo in our rifles but we are prepared,if you screw around with us;we'll start loading ammo & all bets are off".

Very well-armed & equipped soldiers in unmarked uniforms patrol the area near a Ukrainian military outpost

still can deny direct involvement the rules of war dictate that your army should be marked indicating which country but this is not required by pmc sad.gif

same like what american did in afghan war between russian last time. Supply equipments and training through the use of pmc but also deny direct involvement tongue.gif

This time, maybe russian clever abit send in PMC, if escalate just send in their troops.
